Biography
At the time she left her original nature clan, Aurai valued her relationship with her younger brother, Aeolus, above all others. She couldn't quite pinpoint why she treasured their bond so much, but somehow, she did. They were still rather young, and she didn't have anyone she could think of as a potential mate, so she hovered around her younger twin brother protectively.
It wasn't an uncommon sight to see Aurai get into an argument with another dragon who dared to bully Aeolus. Before they could even react, Aurai would be up in their faces, a murderous expression etched onto her own. Many thought that she had been born into the wrong flight. Had it not been for her green body and glowing green eyes, dragons would have suspected that she came from Fire flight.
She never apologized for any of her actions, regardless of how badly she was scolded. The only one she had formally apologized to was Aeolus, and that was when she found out of that terrible inferiority complex of his.
"I'm sorry..." she murmured, ducking her head in shame. It made her sad to think that her own twin brother thought of himself as less than her. They were equal, for goodness sake!
"Are you angry?" Aurai pressed tentatively. Please say no! Please say no!
"Of course not!"
Mentally, Aurai heaved a giant sigh of relief.
Despite having admitted to hating the feeling of being "less special" than her, Aurai could tell that her younger brother still harbored the urge to prove himself to his family. Truthfully, Aurai couldn't seem to comprehend why this feeling existed within him. Little did Aeolus know that Aurai was envious of his beautiful magic. Not only could he damage, but he could create. He could repair. She, on the other hand, could only destroy. It almost made her wish she studied magic too, although she had a feeling that she would never be as good as Aeolus.
That night, when she caught her brother sneaking out of the family lair, she knew that it wasn't just a night outing. If she let him leave right then, she would never see her brother and best friend ever again.
The next thing she knew, Aurai was speeding through the night, trying to catch up to her brother as if her life depended on it. Finally, she got close enough to call his name, and she skidded to a screeching halt behind him, feeling like she had just finished a marathon.
"Look," she began, desperately scrambling to find the right words, "I know this is something you felt compelled to do, and I know that you're planning on going all alone—"
Crap, she was only going to make things worse.
"And by no means am I calling you weak! Not at all! But—"
Aeolus cut her off. "You want to protect me?"
Aurai intentionally nodded slowly, not meeting his eyes. Gradually, she looked up, and to her surprise, her brother seemed to be... amused?
He started to laugh, the light coming back to his eyes.
"Well, come on then! What are you waiting for?"
