Ripper Occupation: Raider Flight: Earth Allegiance: Earth Ripper is dumb. Ripper likes to steal things. Ripper is extraordinarily lucky, though, so everything tends to work out for him. For now, anyway. Like father, like son. Ripper isn’t as large as his father, or as intimidating as his mother. He’s not as clever as some of his siblings, and lacks the muscle of the dumbest and most brutish. Yet, he is hardy, a daredevil with limited morals and a firm belief that only those who take the greatest risk will earn the greatest prize. He has found himself blessed with dulled nerves and extraordinary luck, and ample opportunities to prove again and again and again that only those who try, do. You know, even though his clan sighs and pinches their noses as they mumble under their breaths that he would dishonor them less if he just stopped trying. The son of thieves and skirmishers, it’s no surprise that Ripper’s moral compass is skewed in a vastly different direction than most dragons around him, with his brain seemingly incapable of wrapping around the concept of personal property and “throwing down” being considered a perfectly viable option for settling disputes. He operates under the assumption that--if he can manage to wrench an object from your cold, dead talons--then obviously he deserved it more and, that should a fight dome to blows and he puts his opponent in the dirt, obviously his argument was correct. Repeated attempts to explain the flaws in his thinking are met with confusion and resistance, even offense. He claims that his concerned clanmates are trying to make him betray his heritage, which is “precious to an Earth dragon.” They maintain he is full of it. Though he seems unconcerned with damages done to his fellow dragonkind, he is smart enough to know when he is outnumbered and has turned his attention toward beast clans instead of his own species. Rather than knocking out merchants from rival flights or rushing the dens of neighboring clans, he has developed a habit of targeting Serthis (they’re mean, which means they’re fun) and Harpies (who are smart, and therefore satisfying to outdo). It’s very reluctantly that his clanmates allow him to drag home his spoils, often gloating of near-death experiences and bloody brawls. Most just keep their fingers crossed that his luck holds out. Except for clan medics, who plan on charging him an arm and a leg for his own stupidity. After being kicked out by his previous lair Ripper migrated to the southern ice field stumbling upon this peaceful clan many dragons are afraid of Ripper's brutish ways but they try and ignore it not wanting to end up in his claws. Of course not being very clever Chevalix can use this raider for his own gain. Chev is Ripper's only "friend" |
