Empire of Death: Clan of Death

When she was born in the Clan of the Shadowed Hall her name was very different than the one dragons came to know her by later on. The Shadow clan that had found her egg had called her Caiso upon hatching despite it soon becoming apparent the name didn't fit the young mirror's fierce personality. Her breed's natural temperament soon became a problem among other dragons in her clan, though rather than blame that they blamed the fact she'd been abandoned in the pine forest as an egg and raised by Shadow dragons rather than Arcane. Of course Caiso didn't care who raised her; it was just her instincts telling her to use her magic and practice fighting with it... even if it was on the dragons in her clan. The dragons of Shadow Hall of course tried to curb her actions but it was to no avail. The more they did so however, the more Caiso found ways to get around her punishments.
Eventually the dragons in her birth clan couldn't take her behavior. Of course, they couldn't just throw the young dragon out to fend for herself; Caiso was still too young to fight most enemies. Due to their actions around her it didn't take Caiso long to realize they weren't going to tolerate her presence much longer; her home wasn't feeling so much like home anymore. But she couldn't just change the type of dragon she was. Caiso became determined to prove she was strong enough to fend for herself and, while most mirrors didn't use magic, began practicing how to send magic energy through her claws as she swiped at tree trunks and weak prey in the area. It wasn't until she was actually about to leave that she was escorted to another clan in Plague to be taken in by them. |

Caiso didn't think she'd like it in her new 'home'. They'd taken her in after winning her in a game her clan had held for clans around them behind her back to pawn her off, what if this Clan of Death didn't want her as anything more than a soldier for their deity? Her worries became needless however, as Cerberus soon announced that she'd be ruling at his side of all things, and with a new name no less! It was then she had started going by Anubis, a name more fitting to her than what he birth clan had given her; it made her feel powerful and the other dragons actually treated her with respect- even Cobrascales, who had been Cerberus' original mate. However, it would still take time to earn their complete trust and loyalty but Anubis already felt she'd found a home with them now and would do anything to prove she was worthy of her position and true respect for her in herself rather than her position. Anubis soon became more than just that dragon ruling by Cerberus and completely took on the role as his mate as well. There was never any hard feelings for the demoted mirror she'd replaced and with all the dragons in the ever growing clan they hardly met. She knew Cobrascales wasn't about to usurp her position though—not that Anubis couldn't take down the bright colored mirror if needed—as the older mirror had already found a happy relationship with another mirror. Her position was safe, her mate was the strongest dragon in the clan, and while she didn't have the final say in things; she was still there to help influence Cerberus' choices. She is the one who helps deal out the tough love rather than the fear; a firm, yet loving, mother to her clan. Anubis had never dreamed she'd make it so far in her life since she'd hatched all that time ago. |
