The Conservationist
Naturalist "QUOTE" Lily grew up in the Glade Veins and was the only one of her siblings to remain interested in Nature's tenets. Eventually traveling to the Behemoth to learn from the Gladekeeper's druids, she strived to gain encyclopedic knowledge of the realm's flora and fauna, taking to heart the idea of living in balance with the natural world. But in the Everbloom gardens, that balance was already perfect, held in place by her teachers. So the dragoness decided to find somewhere she could practice finding the balance. Light and Nature had a grudging respect from a territory battle seasons before her birth, so she started there. After months living alone studying the unique balance in Light, Lily quietly began seeking a space that needed her services. The Hewn City had a..... unique balance and she started there. The redwood forests would abruptly give way to scrub at city's edge and its large fauna prowled equally, though more carefully, in ruins and woods. She barely notices the tickle of charged air across her scales, too caught up in the uneven balance of plants and bugs and not enough signs of predators. It's harder to miss the flayed Toridae on a post or the dragons that materialize behind it. Undaunted, she flies into the ridgeback's face and asks to see the clan leader. They're.... nicer than her first impression of them is. The ridgeback knows rudimentary fae and the matriarch actually takes to the idea of adding a conservationist to the clan. She puts her in touch with Artemis, the clan hunter, who... she- The only thing she can compare her to is her first encounter with a goldenbeast in the Shrieking Wilds. The skydancer's power is less visible than the beast's size, but no less impressive. The dragoness laughs at her expression when they meet. "Are you surprised to see one of us here? I'm sure we share the same reasons for leaving." They don't need her help with hunting management with Artemis in charge. Still, there's plenty for her to worry about: rainfall, invasives, cutting down the small game hunting, monitoring beastclans, keeping an eye on that alarming plague drake...
