Colton is definitively a lover, not a fighter. He isn't overt about it, but he constantly does small things for his mate Mateo. From cleaning up his bed to bringing him his favorite snack when he's stressed, Colton is constantly looking out for his mate. Mateo thinks these small gestures are incredibly romantic, although he doesn't admit it to anyone but Kenton. This soft-spoken Imperial is also a bit of a practical jokester. It took his clanmates a while to figure out that he was the one pulling the subtle pranks in the den. Colton would never hurt anyone, but he's not above embarrassing his friends with his pranks. Colton loves music, and although he lacks musical talent himself, he has an excellent ear for musical skill. He was the one who gently convinced Kenton that a life in music was not for him, and persuaded him to pursue visual arts instead. His own talents lie in all things electric and mechanical. Together with Mateo and sometimes Flint or Ong, he spends most of his time building and repairing the machines that Lightning is famous for. Although he doesn't have the creative vision that some dragons do, no one is better at fixing a broken machine than Colton. For many months Colton longed to adopt a nest with Mateo, until one day he literally stumbled over a Lightning egg, tucked under a bush. His hopes rose immediately, but he refused to take it from the poor mother who he was sure would return for it. He didn't even tell Mateo until days later when it was still there, unmoved. Together he and Mateo brought the egg back and tucked it safely into the nesting grounds. Sure enough, a few days later out popped a whirling, twirling ball of bright pink energy, Nishati. While fatherhood has been full of surprises, and challenges, for both of them, Colton would not give it up for the world. He loves that little girl more than he could ever have imagined. She and Mateo are his whole world, and he thinks he must be the happiest dragon who's ever lived. |
