Bell was hatched in the land of powdery snow and frigid ice no matter what time of year it was. In this land many dragons of her color and likeness where gathered here for the start of the new year ahead before going off again to their respected homes. As Bell was not the youngest at the time she watched over her younger siblings as her parents did whatever a parent had to do during the day. She heard shouting as her parents were getting ready to go and watched a male trying to dig into a small cave that he could never fit in. Pulling on her mother’s wing she asked if she could stay and help the hatchling in the cave get out as she could fit down there. As her parents discussed the idea she watched the family trying to dig them out. As the discussion concluded Vahyro took the things that were packed and young hatchlings and started to head home. Vahyra and Bell went to the family and offered their help which was happily accepted. Getting out some reflective fish scales Bell headed into the cave leaving a path to go back up to the entrance. Bell called out hearing replies she followed the echos down into the cave system. After calling back and forth she found the three of them and asked them to follow her back out to the entrance. Once they got out of the cave the three were scolded by their mothers while Bell walked back to her mother’s side and sat down. They were thanked by the father and then by the three hatchlings. Vahyra and Bell bowed their heads after saying your welcome and picked up a few of their things and started flying back home to Vahyro and Bell’s siblings. As a year passed Bell had grown up happily watching over her younger siblings. It was time again to travel back to the land of snow and ice with her family group. Helping her parents unpack and setting the young ones up for naps after a long days flying. She looked around the area and noticed two dragons getting ice to fill up a hole that had scratches around it. Bell walked up to the two looking at the hole she remembered from a year ago.
“I truly thought that hole was bigger the last time I saw it.” She said watching them filling it with ice.
“I’m just surprised that this guy fit down there at all.” The older of the two remarked looking at the filled hole then at the younger. “Right?”
“I’m surprised that I fit down there after him and the other two.” Bell said chuckling lightly. The older of them then looked at her seeming to rack his memory a bit.
“Bell, Right? Vahyra’s and Vahyro’s daughter?” He asked as Bell nodded to them both.
“Thanks for that back then who know how long we would of stayed down there if you didn’t come to find us.” The younger said before his father could chime in.
“You’re very welcome. I think I hear my parents calling.” Bell says looking over to her family group hearing shouting from them. “ Sorry I must go help with my younger siblings. I wish you both a happy new year. Goodbye.” Bell says bowing to them before trotting off to her family group where young imperials are dog piling on her father.
“Now come on little ones it’s time to get some sleep.” Bell says looking at her siblings as they ‘aw’ disappointedly and head into a warm nest to sleep.
“Are you still alive down there?” She asks her father who is still laying on the ground.
“No I’m dead.” Vahyro groans as gets back up.
“Okay then. Hey who are those two are talking over there?” She asks as helps him a bit. Vahyro looks at the two.
“Ah that would be Vision and his Youngest Christmas.” He says and flinches lightly when he sees Vision get hit on the head by his son. “Ooo that had to hurt. And we are not getting any younger.” He says as Bell nods and goes back to helping unpacks for the family group noting Christmas’s name. The next day and days following she would come by and speak with Christmas in the morning before her younger siblings woke up and she had to look after them. They spoke of many things like how cold it would be to what’s your favorite familiar to hang out with. As the event of new years came closer many families got ready for the celebration planning food, fireworks and the Dance of New Year’s Lights. Young and old dress up and dance the night away to celebrate as it was tradition. Bell’s family was in charge of fireworks but Bell had another job from her family hatchling sitting for all those who had no time to watch them as they got the dance ready. As Christmas was getting up earlier and getting back late in the evening Bell really didn’t get to speak to him during that time as she got overloaded with so many hatchlings to look after. Her ability to take care of hatchlings and do it very well was not missed by many males. As the dance has been used many times to try to get to know a dragon better many males asked her to the dance as there didn’t seem to be another male in the picture. Bell politely declined the offers to be taken to the dance by them since even after a long day of crazy hatchlings she still thought of Christmas missing their interesting conversations and jokes that made her day. A day away from the event another male had tried to ask her to the dance and got declined as she shook her head no to him and he walked of. Bell sighed lightly as another set of footsteps approached.
“Did all the guys here try to eat a glowing pocket mouse in front of you or what? I’ve heard you got your eyes on a king for the dance.” Christmas jokes as he sits down across from her. Bell chuckled lightly smiling at him.
“I think he’s more of a hard working jester.” Bell says watching him.
“I wanna see a hard working jester. Point him out, point him out.” Christmas says as he gots= up walking behind Bell and looks over her shoulder. She blinks a few times and laughs. Bell thinks a bit then points at Christmas feeling him back up a bit.
“Well if I’m a jester then I have a trick to show you. Turn around if ready.” He says from behind her. As Bell turns around and sees Glowing Pocket mice dancing in circles.
“So will you go to the Dance of New Year’s Lights with me?” Christmas asked looking at her as Bell smiled and replied.
“Of course.”
