Bhumi was born to an isolated branch of snappers in the caverns deep under the Cloudscrape Crag. Now how this clan came to be, the story of how a whole clan of snappers ended up on the giant glacier known as the Southern Icefield, is to remain obscure. All that matters now, in the lifetime of this gem-like beauty, is that somehow, they did.

Bhumi was raised like any other child of the icefield snappers, taught to follow the endless, circling paths of her kind through the deep and infinite paths of the mountains.

None of this ever sat so well with the inquisitive and experience-hungry adolescent, until finally one day, she broke off from the path to forge her own way, saying goodbye to her clan and family in the process. Despite her fear of the unknown and her family's pleas and harsh words, the young snapper never looked back once her to decision to leave the path was made. Upon seeing the light of the outside world for the first time, she promised herself to never walk any path that was not of her own choosing.

Unbeknownst to Bhumi, there had been a witness to her departure, and a witness to her unwavering determination to leave the caverns she had spent her while life in. Sent on a mission to scout the gorges and caves of the ice domain for a possible ingredient for an experiment back home, Nimbus had picked up on signs of a nomadic clan in the area. As difficult as he found it to believe that there would a single snapper, let alone a whole clan of his kin brave and crazy enough (as he was) to break away from the various groups in the shattered plain and abandon the long tread paths of their ancestors. But he soon found the paths that had been made here, and realized that despite their bizzare location, these snappers were of the same make and mind of his brethren to the North. With a sigh, he decided to just continue scouting for ingredients, when he heard a commotion coming from an adjacent tunnel. That is how he found Bhumi.

Shortly after her departure from the caverns, Bhumi found herself in a perilous situation. Having never had to deal with the biting wind, and tempermental weather of the world on the surface before, she soon found herself stuck on the mountains in the middle of a blizzard.
