Gelbaz
The Architect

Gelbez was taken in by the Forge Wardens at a young age. He had few skills and little knowledge about much of anything, but helped with the lair's construction while their numbers continued to increase. He learned how to plan safe and stable places to make tunnels and dens and how to reinforce them with great iron girders to withstand volcanic tremors. Welding, riveting, lining, bracing and levelling became second nature very quickly, and soon were his passion and specialty. He is so dedicated to his work that he'll often wake up in the middle of the night to sketch new blueprints or add to existing ones. The clan now considers him their construction foreman and architect, and is one of the hardest workers in their ranks as well as a dependable and dangerous warrior.

Those who work under the strict snapper learn quite quickly that if they make a mistake, they'll hear about it from halfway across the continent. Gelbez is loud, probably because years of trying to be heard over the clamour of construction has just become a habit and maybe left him a little deaf. He's also very sure of himself and his expertise, and will happily argue his reasoning and denounce anyone who disagrees with him. It has given him a poor reputation, and most of the younger members of the Forge Wardens won't work with him. He just considers their generation soft and emotionally unstable, before doing all the work himself. Many have urged him to take an apprentice so his knowledge and skills are not lost one day on the battlefield, and to his credit, he's tried many times ... but no one can quite pick up his lessons.
