Precious

Precious, like so many other hatchlings, was left at the Endless Dusk's doorstep in a box. He was cold, sickly and deprived of love. The Tribe though a bit startled to find him, immediatly began feeding him, warming him and showing him someone cared. He was insecure and obviously came from a hard background but those who loved him didn't try to pry. They named him 'Precious' to show he was loved. Even then he still didn't quite seem like a haughty Pearlcatcher. He was sweet, grateful and very humble.

Precious came right before the Festival of Renewal, the celebration of the New Year. Many dragons from far and wide came to the festival and celebrated. One of the dragons was a Mage, who did a demonstration of spells. From then on Precious was fascinated with magic and sought to learn it. He spent a long time in his hut in the trees, studying and researching and learning more and more about his new obsession. Some dragons were worried about him, but when they saw the excited gleam in his eye they let him be.

Eventually Precious emerged from his home wielding strong, Nature magic. He finds new uses for it by the day - protecting his clan, entertaining a hatchling, improving the abundance of the forest, giving gifts - the possibilities are endless! Precious remains keen and gentle, constantly trying to spread the overwhelming love that he received in his dire need. His past is still unknown but all dragons agree that Precious is one of the kindest, warmest and smartest dragons they know.

His Maren Warlock goes by the name Ember, the closest thing to his Maren name. He was kept as a prisoner by Sirka for a long while, who was distrustful of him. Precious was kind to him, bringing him food, struggling to communicate with him and eventually convincing the chieftain to release him. Ember had grown close to his fellow Mage and, after realizing that even among his own tribe there were none who he was closer too, returned to stay with Precious. He lives in an underground lake below his friend's den and, when on land, is kept in a magical orb of water that was created with the aid of some visiting Water mages. Though his face usually appears to rest in a menacing scowl, the warlock is kind in his own way to anyone who isn’t a threat and uses his considerable intellect to translate spellbooks from Draconian to Maren and, occasainally, write his own. Precious scarcely realizes how powerful and dangerous Ember and his magical ability truly is, and Ember doesn’t feel terribly inclined to tell his friend so. The unlikely duo likes to deliver small gifts on holidays. Neither of them possess much, but they love to share what they have and bring cheer.
