Azazel is one of the primary members of what is known as the Demonic Woods of Vixen's Clan. The Demonic Woods is a portion of their former territory in the Starwood Strand that the demon dragons claimed before Vixen moved the majority of the clan to the Focal Point. After the move, they chose to stay with Vixen's permission. The primary members are the demon dragons who had originally claimed and fought for the territory; any others living there are 'residents' and are only allowed to live there with the demons' permission. It's a dangerous spot and not for the faint of heart, but offers more places to hide and a quieter environment for those who prefer such. The demon dragons, thus, are constantly fighting for rank amongst each other--which dictates how much respect and fear they demand from the residents.

As one of the prominent demons of the Demonic Woods, Azazel holds the second highest ranking. He is highly respected by the other demon dragons and is only outranked by Alastair, who's superiority he recognizes. He may not appear as dark and formidable as the others, but his confidence and charisma will surprise you. He has been a longtime resident and is passionate about forming and maintaining his alliances. Whether you like it or not, you will meet Azazel if you enter the Demonic Woods.

When the nefarious underground Fighting Pit became more permanent, Azazel took it upon himself to really take control of it. Although Alastair keeps a watchful eye, he trusts Azazel to keep it in check. Not only does Azazel organize when and where it happens, and keeps the fighters in line, but he also participates in the ring as one of the main fighters.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Azazel was instated as the Prince of Hell by Lucifer who had created him as one of the first five demons in existence. As such, he has always maintained loyalty to his creator and leader, even as a dragon on Sornieth. Everything he does is to honor and serve Lucifer. Because of this devotion, he has not been able to keep a mate. He has taken a few, but none have stuck. One of his attempts was with a Plague Wildclaw then known as Crossroads. She was a lesser demon with whom he enjoyed the company. She eventually left to join another clan and he chose not to follow. They never actually laid a nest though.
Lately, he has been seen frolicking around with an Earth Wildclaw called Ammit. She is an Egyptian demon, which he finds intriguing. She is very different from him and believes in different deities, but he likes her. He enjoys her ferocity and shamelessness.

His closest relationship is with his "daughter", Meg. Although he and the Shadow Imperial are not actually related in any sense, she is his most loyal supporter and follower and has been his protege for a long time. Thus, he considers her family and has absolute faith in her.
He doesn't have any historical connection to Alastair, besides their shared high-ranking demon status in Hell, but because he is the mate of Meg, Azazel feels a high regard for the Ice Imperial. He does not mind Alastair taking the highest rank in the Demonic Woods and is glad that his daughter has found such a powerful and loyal mate.

Azazel's personality allows him to form and keep connections rather easily, especially with other demons. As such, he considers all the demon dragons in the woods to be allies. He does not have any personal beef or conflict of interest with the others and therefore does not clash with any of them.
Despite his familiar's celestial origin, the two have bonded to each other quite immediately. Upon its first arrival into the woods, it immediately identified his strength and influence and ignored his infernal genesis. They are definitely allies and tend to stay in relative closeness of the other.
Azazel interacts a lot with the non-demons of the woods. This is not because he considers them equals (he does not) but rather because he enjoys inter-reacting with others. Sometimes he will instigate and cause conflict or tension, other times he will simply engage in conversation out of curiosity or boredom.

PERSONALITY:

Azazel often appears smug, likely due to his overflowing confidence and charisma that emits from his aura unrelentingly. He is very self-assured and proud, so much to the point of taking risks and sometimes being quite careless. He is also quite sadistic, and enjoys inflicting pain in both the physical and emotional/psychological sense. However, he does not like to kill unnecessarily (but that won't stop him from torturing extensively). Azazel loves to talk and to interact with others, much unlike the rest of the demon dragons in these woods. He is actually quite skilled at cultivating his relationships. He will often seek out others that live in the woods to pick their brains and sometimes to instigate conflict. He loves to taunt others and has proven to be very manipulative and cunning. All this considered, Azazel is extremely loyal and intensely devoted to his cause (which is, essentially, serving The Devil). Those close to him he considers family and strives to protect and honor them. Because of this, he inspires loyalty and respect in others. In this way, he is very admirable and many aspire to follow him and/or earn his praise.
