Once an eminent child of the Lightweaver, Regis is the ancient self-appointed guardian of a cursed pool in ruins deep beneath the Thorndark Altar, a basin full of shadowy, murky liquid seemingly with a life of its own. The pool shifts and churns, reflecting nobody that lingers beside it, and, sie claims, steals the souls of those foolish enough to gaze into its mysterious depths, replacing them with its taint, reducing them to shadow-drooling beasts that must be given a humane death before they spread its foul effect through bite and magic. Being close to such a nexus of power has... effects, even on the most stalwart of dragons. Over the years, hir guardianship began to falter, the curse finding cracks in hir armor. After a millenium of warding others away, hir life finally faltered. Sie was lost, the curse dragging hir consciousness down and taking hold of hir, and fell into a deep sleep, appearing to be a still, golden statue to all around. Asleep for gods know how long, when sie awakened, it was to an empty basin and the harrowing discovery that the curse had moved into hir body, residing within hir frame but unable to devour hir soul, whether due to hir strength of character or due to the light that burns within hir, as the Lightweaver's progeny. Bearing the shade's taint, sie survives now, leaking shadow from hir constantly weeping eyes as shadow and light vie for dominance with hir body as the battleground. It leaves hir weakened, chronically ill and frequently resting within hir pillowed, regal den, but sie now wields the power of Shadow as sie would hir naturally-born element. |

Sie is quite fond of cats; hir closest companion is Quinn, hir golden bantam fangar. She purrs hir to sleep when sie is struggling to, kept up by the pain, and when sie was cursed, she was turned into a matching golden idol in order to remain by hir side until Regis was able to move again. She is blessed so that her lifespan will match hir own, as sie is unable to bear parting from hir most loyal companion and emotional support animal. Quinn is known for being very food motivated and a bit lazy on most days, but incredibly needy and affectionate; she will climb onto any dragon she trusts, purring and kneading and drooling all the while. |

Quiet I can see definitely, sie'd be a loner, someone who doesn't like crowds. Sie gets lonely from time to time, but Quinn helps ease that ache. Sie's got a noble personality, someone who takes the higher ground at all times, regardless of the difficulties. When the going get's tough, sie doesn't flinch or falter. Sie doesn't get mad often, it takes a lot to get hir there, but sie does get intense. Sie's the type of person people would willingly lay down their lives for, sie's just got that draw to hir. Sie definitely takes pride in what sie does, but isn't the type of person that allows hir pride to get bruised. Sie's strong in spirit, it would talk a LOT to break hir. Not even the curse does it so that's saying something.

Sie's more melancholy now, more prone to staring into space and thinking of the past. I don't know if sie'd avoid people, but if sie doesn't, then sie'd be grateful for the chance to not be so lonely.
