story.
a flowering viscount ruling over a province of perfumes and aroma. he lives in a small estate by the sea encrusted with roses and gardenia.khaemter was born on the northern coast of saint-fleur, a sleepy sun-soaked and fruit-laden city-state with strong diplomatic and moral influence over the rest of the world. he entered political life young, being a naturally compassionate and honourable advisor to the viscount of his day. there he met lotte, another cabinet member who became his closest friend and lover (who he married in secret). his earnest work made him an inevitable choice for viscount when the previous passed. while he is polite and kind, he is generally described as having a distant aura, as though he floats around the world at arm's length, but his shield is one of warm empathy. khaemter is clearly sincere, but without giving anything of himself away. no one but his closest friends truly know anything about him beyond his accolades. he is a source of envy for many people, though they would be disappointed to learn he is but another person and not the myth he is characterized as. this image is not helped by his reclusive lifestyle, as he doesn't venture outside saint-fleur, which has been spun as a lavish luxury in small circles of his critics. a majority of his friends had been killed in a devastating attack over a decade ago whilst on a diplomatic mission in vidar, including lotte. he is unaware of the corruption of the previous viscount, his mentor, who had misled khaemter into destroying evidence of saint-fleur's involvement in the coup, which in reality had been a cover for raziel's blood magic ritual. something wicked still stirs beneath the sparkling sand and fragrant mountains. in the necropolis, there is a statue of him. it is smiling, but sometimes it looks more like a tearful grimace. | ___ |
