Asenath was alone when she hatched. Her egg had been abandoned by accident after a beastclan raid, and so when she emerged into the world, she thought silence was all there was. She hunted and fished for herself, more or less just making ends meet; after a few years, she met Joseph, a wandering soul who stumbled across the abandoned lair by accident. She took it in stride, rapidly picking up on how to communicate and work with others, and all was well until Joseph was injured while they were hunting.

Asenath began to despair - she didn't know how to fix this, and he was dying. A wizened imperial slid out from the treeline, and Asenath suddenly found herself one in a party of three.

Laohu hung around, taking Asenath under her literal and metaphorical wing, and she learned the art of healing and herbology.
