He is not like his mother or father, and his cheery demeanor and thirst for adventure have lead him to leave his birth clan with his head held high. He knows that while his father may support his every step, his mother's eyes hold nothing but disdain for his chosen path.

The Imperial disregards the weight of her disappointment entirely. He lives for himself, not for others, so why care?

Despite Valentine's disapproval, however, all others he comes across seem to adore him. Harkonen has a way with words, and is an expert at weaving tales -- some more truthful than others -- of his travels. Dragons from far and wide gather to hear his perfect voice and engaging stories, and when he passes among the audience some leave with their pockets a little lighter.

His father taught him some things, at least. Simple sleight of hand and the necessary skill of diverting attention elsewhere have shaped him into a daring and magnificent thief. With a knack for charming people and the ability to vanish into the shadows at a moment's notice, by night Harkonen slips into windows and vaults to take their riches for himself. Even with his massive size, he moves silently, and though he is pursued by those who he has taken from they have never managed to catch him.

It is simply his own interpretation of survival of the fittest. If they cannot manage to catch him, then why do they deserve to have what he desires? The thrill he gets from slipping through the fingers of everyone who tries to capture him, from walking among society by daylight; he'd never give it up.

One of these days, he will pay for his crimes, and dearly. But until then, he will live dangerously, spinning stories and pilfering treasures.
