Xan, along with his mate, founded Clan Embershroud. After months of sucessful growth and caring for the clan, he proposed that the two go on a pilgrimage to the Great Furnace for further guidance from the Flamecaller. With hesitation, Eir agreed and the two departed, leaving their beloved clan for what she felt was forever. It took a while for them to find their way back to the clan itself, since it had relocated since their departure. In time, they found their way to the Obsidian Keep, and were welcomed back with open arms. Xan often tells the story of their journey to the younger members of the clan, no matter how many times they've heard it before.
