Although she was born in the Tangled Woods, Eclipse feels much more at home in the sandy expanse of the Carrion Canyon. She is a wanderer at heart and regularly spends days at a time exploring the desert. After she lost her young son in her second nest, she disappeared into the desert for days on end, until Kestrel and Jasim went to comfort her and bring her back. She has been known to take her children with her once they are big enough to leave the nest. Eclipse raises her children to be independent and adventurous, although they tend to stay close by to their parents. It is Eclipse who teaches most of the hatchlings how to find water and food in the barren desert of the Carrion Canyon.

Now Eclipse uses her vast knowledge of the desert to scout for Emperor dragons that like to take up residence in the Shifting Expanse. She often spends days flying over the desert, searching for traces of the vicious monstrosities so they can be dispatched before the grow any larger. She is teaching Kestrel the ways of the desert as well so they both can keep watch to protect their home.
