Oleander

*Probably would do best with someone who is as much of a nerd as she is- someone who shares and will honor her interests, too. Now courting SPECIALSNOWFLAKE, but I haven't written lore between them yet.

A big, brawny guardswoman of a dragon. Oleander has been trained by her father in the art of combat, and has taken on his desire to protect and sacrifice herself for others. She isn’t much of a mage and has always struggled to channel her water magic, yet her fluid, graceful battle style elicit a similar appearance that often throws her opposers off in how balanced she is. But despite this, she isn’t a brute. Her presence is not traditionally intimidating, painting her as a lawmaker who isn't an enemy, no matter how popular Xerxes has become as a king. Oleander is often able to use this to her advantage, and is perfectly capable of solving conflicts both through words and combat. While not a trained diplomat, she can handle civil affairs within the kingdom quite well. With these skills and years of proving her meddle, she is one of the highest ranking guards in the Kingdom of Luminance.

But Oleander is not all bluster and serious business. She’s always loved the arts, especially that of novels. Oleander will read anything and everything she’s given with great joy, but she especially loves romance novels. She’s always been a romantic, and yearns for that kind of relationship herself. While she has yet to meet her partner for life, it doesn’t stop her from romanticizing the relationship she yearns for. Oleander feels affection for any dragon of any gender, but just hasn’t met the right one yet. As such, Oleander spends days she is granted on vacation traveling. She wishes to experience as many cultures and different types of dragons as possible. Both to learn about them, and understand what she truly seeks in a mate. She has mingled with many of the eleven united clans, and has picked up a surprising number of friends and acquaintances in her time there.

One of her closest friends is the poet and novelist, Marcel. The two of them tend to beta read for eachother, though their interests in writing material tend to be vastly different. When not attending to her duties, the two are often seen hanging out with one another and sharing a cup of tea. Their relationship is purely platonic, but they do genuinely enjoy being in eachother’s presence. Adalgarde has been another friend of hers, and another crush. Adalgarde is infamously hard to win, and it didn’t take her long to decline and her advances. However, Oleander has slowly grown to enjoy her as a friend. They both share a love for flowers, and Oleander is often happy to share some from her personal garden as models. Oleander accepts that the two may not be the best fit, yet they still enjoy eachothers' presence as friends.

Oleander's familiar, Aphrodite was acquired when the clan made the switch to their current partnership. The Sakura owl was pleased to meet a dragon who shared her love of literature, something uncommon among Beastclans. Being born within the clan, the two have been together since birth and are like siblings to eachother. It's rare that they fight or are seen away from one another. They have the same bubbly personality and sense of humor, and seem to understand eachother seamlessly.
