Biography
Zapfishes are, as the name suggests, a fish that produces electricity. They are the primary energy source some twelve thousand years into the post-apocalyptic Earth. Rising seas forced two once-friendly species to fight mercilessly over them and what little land was left.
"Zapfish, come over here please" Tesla called, turning his head towards a female wildclaw who was currently zooming in circles around the room, with no visible intentions to stop anytime soon.
The feathers on her head were all ruffled up, and from time to time some sparkles would come out of her body, making her giggle slightly.
When the rest of the clan referred to her as a "living battery" they didn't do that simply because of how energetic the wildclaw was: she was literally full of electricity, to the point that she needed to let it go.
They would see her running all over the place, jumping and bouncing, incapable of staying still for more than a few seconds.
Yet that wasn't enough, despite moving all day, every day, her energy levels were still dangerously high.
And that's where Tesla's work came in.
As an inventor, and a lightning dragon, most of his work needed a huge amount of energy, that he normally would have easily found in a place like the Shifting Expanse, but now that he lived in the Ashfall Waste there wasn't as much chance to get what he needed, in the quantity he needed.
But since Zapfish arrived, they found out that both of their problems could be fixed by simply collaborating.
He would have had his energy, and she would have been better, it was a win win situation.
"Zapfish!" Tesla called again.
"Zooming!" the wildclaw screeched, continuing with her fast loops, completely ignoring the Ridgeback's request.
Tesla shook his head, not daring to get near his friend, as her continuous running had created a sort of zapping energy field that would have probably electrocuted him, and that was the last thing he wanted.
"Zapfish, I need your help!" He yelled out, hoping that this time his friend would have listened to him.
The female wildclaw suddenly stopped and started to bounce up and down, now looking at Tesla.
"You need me?" She asked, in such a fast way that if Tesla wasn't used to that he wouldn't had understood her.
"Yeah, you silly battery, I need your help" he repeated, calmly this time.
"I can help! Oh yes, I can help you Tesla!" she blabbed, trying so hard to stop herself from starting to run again.
The Ridgeback nodded and motioned for her to come closer, as he was already the wires settled up for her.
The wildclaw rushed over, and quickly grabbed the two extremities, immediately releasing a huge amount of energy, which turned on the machine that started beeping and shining.
"Good job, Battery!" Tesla giggled, looking at his friend who smiled back at him.
"I'll always help you, Tesla!" Zapfish stated, starting to calm down after releasing most of her electricity.
