Biography

❦ A P I U M   Apothecarist // Female
Apium (including celery and the marshworts) is a genus of about 20 species of flowering plants in the family Apiaceae. They are medium to tall biennial or perennial plants which prefer wet ground (marshes and salt marshes).

Apium  lost her balance during her first flight as a hatchling, plummeting into the canopy below like a rock being thrown into a stream. She survived the fall, but not without sustaining injuries. Her clan was ill-equipped to handle such wounds and as such, bones were not allowed the opportunity to properly heal. Though a broken wing would accompany her for the rest of her life, the lingering damage would fail to thwart her ambitions.

She had always been fond of the jungle and she was determined to never leave it. As she matured and endured the hardships from the lack of flight, her passion for medicinal knowledge grew. Before she knew it, she was dressing wounds, applying splints, and dispensing medicinal herbs for common ailments. She took up an apprentice and once she felt that her knowledge had been fully passed down, she left the comforts of her clan in search of others who would require her wisdom, and to corral a mate.

After visiting a few neighboring wyers, she chanced upon Kalei, the Diamond Rooks' former head botanist. The two formed an immediate friendship over their love of plants and Apium was invited back to the homestead to meet the rest of the tribe. It was here that she would be introduced to her future beau and begin life's next journey--

A family.

She was also forced to withstand a plethora of coffee in their quarters at all times. It grew on her.

Notes
  • Apium cannot, for the life of her, communicate with a Fae. She cannot understand what they are saying and will sit there gawking at them with a ludicrous facial expression. It is also believed that she enjoys to play dumb; she has a childish sense of humor.
  • Her absolute favorite food is Sea Bass.
