Biography
.
Mercury Alocken
~Fire’s Messenger~ . ♥ ♥ "Great, now Intel AND Ashes are going to have my tail for this. Oh, not those old habits again..." A very social dragon. Kind on the surface, but “borrows” treasure and clothing from clans he visits with the messages he delivers when their guards are down. His words are persuasive under his happy and playful charm. His kindness to his clan is sincere though, and it’s known that he does get a little nervous about Ashes’s presence due to his previous actions. Intel keeps him in line though. As for his job, he's the entrusted messenger of the clan. He charms his way into getting new things from the clans he visits and takes the time to show his outfit off along the way because he knows he looks good. Yes, his ego is through the roof, but he also gets flustered easily when he's proven wrong and stutters like the cutie he is as he's trying to find at least something to keep him from shattering into a blubbering mess of embarrassment. He's great at setting up a new character for show, but a horrible liar when he's found out. | . |

How it all began...
The start of Mercury’s journey could be described as…not the best in the world. When Mercury was a couple days old, his parents placed him up for auction with a very cheap price on the tag around his neck. It was frightening- and later on embarrassing- to the little one, feeling that he was just a commodity to be bought and sold. Mercury had tough difficulties developing trust with other dragons for a long time because of his first upbringing, but one good thing came from this rise: his new home. The leader of the clan took him in and raised her as her own just when the small group of dragons was developing. As he grew with them, Ashes realized that Mercury wasn’t adjusting very well to clan life. She noticed that the various items that had gone missing were because of Mercury’s stealing. She had confronted the young dragon about these awful habits, but Mercury was dishonest too, often lying about what he had done. Ashes settled on thinking that some responsibility would help Mercury and gave him a familiar to take care of. This old, wise Longneck Interloper was named Intel, and he was a traveler earlier on that was taken in. Mercury did not often have time to steal and lie successfully around his companion while he was handling Intel, and those certainly were not the only benefits Intel’s presence provided. Intel’s wisdom and experience gave Mercury the joy of learning and gaining experience about many different subjects while taking in valuable life lessons. With Ashes and Intel by his side, Mercury began to break his old, awful habits and become a dragon Ashes was proud to have by her side.
It was a surprise to her how little trust he still had with everyone around him. The social butterfly of the clan still was able to easily adapt to social situations, but he also enjoyed spending time alone. If he was not talking, he would be definitely showing off his messenger gear or his pink pajamas with the stuffed plush of himself strapped to his side. This openness didn’t mean he improved all the way though. When visiting other clans to drop off letters as his duty decrees, he would try to play little trick games to rig them in his favor. This, in turn, would leave him with empty pockets in some situations. In one vs. one games, he would find himself as the loser because of his quick captivation and cluelessness towards the attractive dragon in front of him (example being his first game with Mark at Gale’s clan down in the Southern Icefield). Also, the reports of Mercury’s actions leave him in some trouble with Ashes. It’s all hide deep though (Ashes’s heart is much too soft to give Mercury any extensive punishment). One of the major changes that happened in his life was when he began to visit the treasure room here and there. Leviana, an Ice Pearlcatcher, stayed there for most of her life since the outside was much too hot for her to breathe properly. It took a while, but in time, all of his previous emotional defenses he had built up completely shattered. Leviana was simply the most amazing dragon that he had ever met. She was quiet and serene, but he learned that she too was lonely. Mercury, for the first time, was truly drawn by his heart to someone else. Although he had experienced attraction to other dragons, he did not open up and form relationships with them often. Being a pansexual, demiromantic dragon, he could feel attracted to any dragon, regardless of that dragon’s gender, but he didn’t want to feel vulnerable to another dragon by being in a romantic relationship because he knew he would question his life and everything he’d know up until that point. But that’s where the turn happened; Leviana was different. Aside from Ashes, he realized that he more trust in her than any other dragon he had met. Only one big problem came from it though. Mercury is very loud and boisterous about himself, of course, but at the time, he had no want for anyone to know he was falling in love with Leviana. Any dragon that had known him knew that Mercury could easily become enamored with another dragon. Even the tail ring she gave him was kept a secret from others. It was only until he grew the confidence to tell Ashes about this that he started to slip the relationship into conversations. It’s not the talk of the land, so all in all, Mercury was able to rest easy with his love for her out in the open. After this, the desire to settle down with her grew even stronger. They started off with an adopted son Mercury found on his travels. Happy and timid, Priapos was one of the shining stars of his life. It didn’t take his hatchling long to grow up to a lovely dragon. Soon after, his stepson flew off to become the Windsinger’s messenger, and Mercury was extremely proud, if not more than that! His stepson was following in his footsteps by becoming a messenger for one of the Eleven! Despite his heart aching to see his tiny smile and fluffy pelt again, he knew letting Priapos follow his destiny was the best life he could give to his stepson. |

Familiar: Longneck Interloper. Nicknamed Intel, Mercury’s travel partner! His old age reflects well with his great knowledge of the geology of the world, easily rivaling Anchor’s. Mercury plays and cares for Intel with the greatest delicacy, and in return, Intel allows Mercury to “borrow” his walking stick when he’s not moving for him to run and jump around with before they head off again.
Intel was found injured by a rogue Mirror and hobbling towards anywhere by Sap. Easily taking this chance to please Ashes, he picked up the creature with his Fuiran keeping him in place on his back and brought him back to the main clan territory. It was identified as a Longneck Interloper by Anchor, and after Mercury came into the clan and Intel healed, he was given to Mercury as a test of teamwork and companionship. It’s easy to say that the relationship between the two worked out wonderfully so far. Intel’s wisdom calms Mercury down from causing any chaos with his kleptomania.
Extra Notes: "He shows off his clothing frequently (as stated above) and sometimes forgets what his task was when doing so. Mercury likes to draw himself or dragons of any gender that he finds absolutely beautiful on the back of thrown out letters and coloring them with crushed beetle juice and clay, but that may also end up with him doodling on the envelopes he forgot were current and blaming it on the hatchlings in the clan. Is it obvious to tell that he's a bad liar when he's flustered and covered in a golden blush from his yellow blood? Anyways, he enjoys the sight of rose bushes and frequently travels around them to see the blooming rose petals. He also snags his favorite coat on them constantly which prompts him to not want to be seen at all until Ashes fixes it. He's never without his whole clothing set. One that many dragons don't understand why it's worn by him is the ruby tail ring that is secured tight near the base of it. He seems to not want to talk about its importance to anyone. What secret is he hiding this time...?"

Artistic Notes
If drawing him as a dragon, I'd love for all of his apparel to stay on him. Any position is fine. Please keep it SFW. I'd be happy to see him either somewhat embarrassed and trying to laugh it off or very confident, but anything you choose is fine.
If drawing him as a Gijinka, please keep his original colors and markings for his skin. He has an otter (not a bear) build with his muscles from traveling so much, and his dark pink hair is similar to Kirito's from the anime Sword Art Online. Also keep his claws, wings, and tail with this form. He has an average sized nose. Feel free to add on the spikes if you wish. He's about 6'2" if that's important. His outfit is his current apparel items adjusted for a human body with a black turtleneck and black shorts (or sometimes black jogging pants) underneath. His boots go up to just below his knees, and the end design where the toes show can end with a normal boot look with a black front and silver accents.
