Name Origins: LOONA
Gender: female, she/her

Having spent most of her life being left behind, Olivia had not been expecting much the more she'd shouldered on through the underbrush, chasing after the elusive Gloomwillow Guide as it zipped between the trees, delving further and further into the shadows of the forest permanently covered by night.

Every time she'd thought the little creature had vanished into the darkness, it would appear from behind her, almost playfully, dancing in circles around her figure, before Olivia would have to chase it down once more.

“Where are you taking me?” Olivia gasped as one of her wings hit a tree she’d accidentally flown too close too. She was growing awfully tired from this little game of theirs. She took a moment to peek over her shoulder, fluttering her wings while frowning at the realization that she had no idea where she’d been brought. “You got me lost!”

The little guide seemed to shake its head, flitting around in a less playful manner this time, making urgent circles towards a cluster of underbrush.

“There…?” Slowly, Olivia flew closer to the bushes, heart pounding, a ringing notion through her skull as she saw the leaves rustle from movement.

Suddenly, a swarm of butterflies, wings tainted colors that Olivia had never even dreamed of seeing in this shadowy realm, burst forth from the bush, flying out and embracing Olivia in their cluster, urging her to fly closer.

Settling herself down onto the ground with soft, padded feet, Olivia parted the branches with baited breath, only to let out a quiet gasp at the sight that beheld her.

The small Fae dragon lying beneath the foliage had a bright green shine to her that Olivia had never witnessed before, but the spark in those deep purple eyes held something that would lighten up Olivia’s world for the rest of her life.

--

Olivia’s not going to lie— she wasn’t exactly the most enthusiastic of the idea of getting involved with too many other dragons, not at first, at least. Between herself and Gowon, her mate had definitely been the keener one to let other dragons into their personal bubble.

“Let’s have lots of friends!” Gowon had insisted, flitting around Olivia in their shared nest one day. Olivia still remembers it clearly— it had been right after Farron had appeared in their clearing, little, weak Reina dangling from his muzzle, and the adult Shadow Skydancer begging for a place to rest. Unsurprisingly, their Gloomwillow friend had willingly led the Skydancer duo to their home (and how he had ended up with an orphaned Nature hatchling, Olivia will never know, and she’d figured that it wasn’t her place to ask). “I want to have lots of friends to get into all sorts of trouble with!”

Olivia had laughed gently at that, quietly urging Gowon back down, twining their tails together.

“Is getting into trouble on our own not enough?” Olivia had asked teasingly, thinking back to how they’d stolen from a traveling caravan earlier that day, and Gowon snorted.

“Oh, you know what I mean, Olivia!” Gowon had swished her tail back-and-forth, sweeping up the stray leaves that had snuck their way into their nest. “Think of how many more antics we could get into! Think of all friends!” Then, Gowon suddenly quieted, getting a faraway look in her eyes. “Think of the family we could make.”

And Olivia had smiled, flicking her head to the side understandingly. Of course her mate just had to get sentimental.

“If it’s a family you want, then it’s a family we’ll make!” Olivia enthuses, standing up her hindlegs for effect as she spreads her wings as far as they’ll go. “We’ll make sure that no one will be left behind ever again!”
