You are running from something, life, hunters, your past, something only you know. As you run, you feel yourself growing tired, but you cannot stop. In your exhaustion, you do not see the branch in your path, and fall.
You awake to the sound of insects buzzing in the grasses around you and a soft huff of air on your neck. When your eyes open, you see the form of a great brown guardian standing over you. However, as your vision unblurs, you realize that her brown scales are actually wood, smooth and whorled. You feel a faint twinge of fear at her size, but it is quickly softened when a voice resounds in your head.

”Everything will be okay.”

She beckons you to follow her, and you do, walking slowly together through the trees. As you break into a clearing filled with other dragons,

you get the feeling you’ll be safe here.

Nature can do strange things sometimes. Qima is a result of this, growing from the ground thousands of years ago as a tiny sapling. It learned how to take the form of a dragon by watching the clan nearby. It learned to speak their language by listening. And when it attempted to contact one of the clan's residents, she learned cruelty by their actions. It watched as they built her a cage. It listened as arguments spread across the clan. And when the arguing fell into fighting, it just slipped into the ground and disappeared.
Years later, once the former clan had fallen into ruin, Qima took root again, regrowing the land until it hid the remains of the dragons' failures. She resolved to make a home better than the one that had been there before. Her new territory would be a perfect safe haven for anyone deserving of her care. It cultivated the area before hiding it from anyone she hadn't allowed. If someone was in need of shelter, they would be led to her. If not, they would forget the lands entirely; they could see it, but would be compelled to leave upon entering. When her work was complete, she slept.
Years after that, Qima awoke again to Adra, the sea serpent. Adra, curious, had wandered into the area seeking the source of the magic. Qima, confused as to how the serpent got in, decided to humor her, and the two struck up a tentative partnership. Adra would bring any lost dragons she found to Qima's territory, and Qima would protect them until they left. It was through this partnership that Avisa and Perneth were saved, and how the current clan was founded. Qima watched the newcomers carefully.
As the clan grew in size, Qima became more trusting of the dragons living in her lands. However, if they ever devolve into conflict and battle, it’ll bring the waters inward and let everything go into the sea.

Just kidding. Can you imagine?

When you think of Qima, playful and mischievous are not words you’d use to describe her. Because of this, Persimmon is about the last creature you’d expect Qima to have as a familiar. Despite these differences, she seems to enjoy their presence.
Persimmon is about the polar opposite of Qima, enjoying games of peekaboo with hatchlings and dropping lanterns onto the heads of unsuspecting dragons. They are in charge of organizing the non-living lanterns in Qima’s branches and spend most of the morning choosing the prettiest lanterns of the day to place on Qima herself.
Despite their outwardly mischievous persona, Persimmon is surprisingly compassionate. Many young hatchlings having a rough day will seek them out for a good hug. Even dragons who don’t know they feel bad will find themselves with Persimmon giving them a well-needed pat on the head. Because of this, they are considered a welcome member of the clan, even if they do pull a few pranks once in a while.

Qima is stunning omg. The vibe is just perfectly connected by the scene, familiar, and apparel. It's skin as well really pulls the look together. I love how she's a Mother Earth type figure who's power lies in nature. Honestly keep it up with your lore, it's fresh, unique, and really draws my attention.
