Biography
Ruse
What better place is there to hide than plain sight?
The first thing she noticed was his wings.
She had never seen such beautiful patterns, and she was utterly captivated by the depth of his icy feathers.
The second thing she noticed was his voice...
Soft. Melodious. Kind.
It left her wanting to hear more... Any word that fell from his tongue was priceless to her.
It was this way she learned of his tragic past: a product of a broken home, he fended for himself, striking out on his own at an early age. His only friend an elderly mirror that he was separated from during a beastclan attack... and he has not been able to locate him since.
His sad story and sweet voice persuaded her to welcome him into her clan.
The thing she didn't notice is what was missing when he left.
It certainly wasn't his fault they were all so gullible.
If she was so easily convinced that he was a lonely wandering orphan, she shouldn't be allowed custody of these precious gems anyway. Or this lovely scarf. Or these.... Hmmm... Whatever these are.
Ruse stood out in a crowd from a young age.... Usually a negative for a thief.
Gambit, noticing his unusual beauty, mandated that he stay behind on heists.
He didn't want the youngster drawing unwanted attention to the den of thieves.
The rules changed when Ruse went missing.... And returned with the biggest haul of loot any hatchling had ever swiped.
He has a natural knack for deception, and uses his beauty as an advantage.
What better place is there to hide than plain sight?
Unfortunately, when one is hiding in plain sight, one slip can cost your entire game.
Ruse was conning a delightfully rich young merchant out of all his money, when a dragon who knew him by a different name stumbled upon the exchange.
It became quickly apparent that Ruse was not who he was claiming to be, so he bolted.
Word travels quickly when lots of money is involved, and Ruse's cover was blown.
He would no longer be able to work safely in the area, so after much discussion with his father and the boss, Haywire, he decided to set out and join his sister and grandparents in the land of Shadows.
What could possibly go wrong?
