"Even if I physically die, the light in my soul will pass on to another, so it will never disappear!" Atem woke up one day in the desert with no idea who he was or where he was from. Initially not remembering his own name, Atem wandered aimlessly as he looked for a place to settle down, not bothering to sleep or eat as he searched. When he found the Hotaru clan he settled down on the outskirts of the village, not sure how to interact with the rest of the clan who mostly seemed to ignore him. He found himself often in the company of the familiars of the clan, looking out for them and making sure that they were all fed and happy by leading them to nearby food sources. Despite the attention he receives from his new friends, Atem still feels lonely. Who is he? He was important once, he thinks, but the memory eludes him. Where is he from? Why is it that he can't seem to make any friends among the clan he has attached himself to? There are whispers in the clan of a ghost who lives on the outskirts of the village. Serrure swears that Ikol has spoken of him on occasion, although many in the clan believe he is pulling a prank on them. Many of the familiars do seem to be attracted to a small clearing on the edge of the main gathering space, though, and the clan can't find any other explanation as to why. Name origin: Atem's name comes from the Ancient Egyptian god, Atum. I own an Egyptian Mau, and I preferred the variation Atem to the original name. He is a wonderful, hyperactive, and very affectionate cat. I had to make a dragon for him on the site! *Was the leader of an Ancient clan which was wiped out fighting against the Shade.
