Alchemy is his hobby, but he is more interested in his rhymes (just ask, he'll tell you he is a skaald and then prove it with a really long verse) and helping the clan spend gold. He introduced a new clan mate Okopipi to Alchemy and she discovered it fascinated her. Unfortunately he wasn't paying much attention to the brew and may have played a small part in her fall into the cauldron. Not to worry, she is quite all right... just a little spotted. On the positive side, she was quite willing to take over as the clan's Alchemist.
Karma came full cycle in his life and one day while he was poking around in the alchemy kite, searching for a snack (there were always some bugs and things kept for melting), Okopipi raced in and bumped HIM into the cauldron. Once more the brew and many objects that feel into it changed a dragon, this time turning the beautiful spiral into a heavy, hissing bogsneak. He's been pretty depressed even since, since even his wind powers can't make him fly like a spiral. Inka has been keeping him sane when she isn't in the lab "doing the science". So far he hasn't quite been brave enough to go in there, not after the brew incident. Her swift wings can carry out any task his clumsy form cannot, and his sharp eyes can help her as the daylight wanes.
