Loch

Loch arrived at the shores of Pyke quite by chance.

She was discovered in the sand at the sea's edge by Clan Greyjoy's patrols, soaked through and quite unresponsive. When she came to, she made little in the way of sense. It is unknown what happened to her, or how she came to be in the sea.

Her memories are difficult to pin down, much like the contents of a dream upon waking.

Her past is not the only thing that is scattered. Loch seldom speaks clearly and often spends time muttering to herself in her otherwise silent chamber as though speaking to somebody that nobody else can see or reliving a conversation that had taken place years in the past.

In the moments when she speaks in the hear-and-now she sometimes says that she remembers a little of her parents, but those moments are few and far between. Her father was an enigma and swung between moments of madness and a strange sort of clarity like a pendulum. Her mother was distant, a stargazer who had spent a little too long staring into that deep, unending blackness.

Other stories call up images of lightning streaking across the sky, places far away, or events still to come.

Though wary of her, the Clan decided to keep her around. Loch, either due to something that happened sometime in her childhood, madness, or, perhaps because of a gift of prophecy bestowed upon her by their Drowned God, sees things that manifest only for her.

Clan Greyjoy are Water dragons, and Water dragons treat seeresses with respect.
