raya originally joined the clan as an assistant scribe to artair, but they quickly realized what a disaster the clan operations were, identified an urgent need for some organization, and promoted themselves into a role that had not existed in the lamplighters before: Administrator.
raya is not only a public relations ambassador to other clans (because circa and exodus are terrible at it), but also between the two lamplighter headquarters in dragonhome and the sunbeam ruins. she's constantly flitting back and forth between the two lairs to monitor how day-to-day operations are going... not so much for their shade-related mission, but mostly to make sure that no one in either lair is dying, starving, too cold, too hot, or too idle.
as a result of taking on this monumental task, raya is always extremely frazzled because no one ever has their **** together when raya needs them to. what do you MEAN you lost the raft, ishmael? what do you MEAN circa left on a solo mission two days ago and hasn’t come back? what do you MEAN a colony of nocturnes moved into the lair cave and is refusing to leave??? etc etc and so on
