- former mercenary, hired out to clans mainly for fighting but would take any work he could get
- has a lot of children from this time
- a real hot head, cocky and reckless
- quite literally charged with lightning energy, super restless, tense, can't stay too still
- there's a high chance if you touch him you'll get shocked
- he's literally brimming with pure electricity it's terrifying and amazing he hasn't suffered some horrible fate yet
- in fact there's so much it's rather difficult to harness. likely to spiral out of his control so he has to be very careful
- when he came here he was finally able to choose his own path. instead of fighting others' battles he gets to do what he deems important - no longer has to be cannon fodder
- he pursued taming this magic instead of fighting like a beast with it - so he took up mage training and now is one of the strongest mages in the clan
- still wears his old armor to honor his past and..yknow, for protection
- ok and sparrow -- she was an engineer-for-hire (perhaps??) which visited the clan once and jay was like head-over-heels for her, but so flustered he didn't try to flag her down. she rarely visits the same place twice but she came back...months later, and this time, stayed. jay convinced the leaders she was needed here, and so now she lives/works here
- they're rlly good for each other - sparrow really grounds jay, personality- and magic-wise, and he makes her smile and drives her on when the work is going really sucky
- they balance each other out - together, a force to be reckoned with
