SORNIETH INFECTION AGENCY

Hello. I am the Black Death. And I have come to spread my breath unto your lair...

This dragon is now owned by Rangiku #33650 and was part of a lore-building pass-the-dragon event for Riot of Rot 2015.

Being born from the Wyrmwound, a child of Plaguebringer, Yersinia decided from a young age that she was meant for big things. When she was called upon to do her due diligence, she leapt at the chance to aid in carrying her plague around Sornieth. She has been promised a home with the Privideniyami Clan upon her completion of her task, and she can't wait for her adventure to begin...

Yersinia’s appearance was timed to perfection. Having warded off the rest of her brethren, the clan was engaged in a celebration. It was positively delightful just how much they’d let their guard down. They’d even saved her the effort by diverting the attentions of their own guards.

The obsidian Mirror took pleasure in the thought of reuniting with the others, for all to share of their travels and transgressions. One soft-bodied wyrm saying no wasn’t going to be enough for any of them to turn away. The Plaguemother was bringing all of Sornieth into her cradle. In the end only fools would be ungrateful.

It was such a happy circumstance: the place where the most subjects to infect were to be found, was also where they were least wary. Yersinia exerted her power, snatching a morsel of shellfish and dipping a claw in a pitcher (inebriation is, at best, seldom wise), she walked much of the crowded room, brushing past several oblivious dragons.

The Plague Mirror fully intended to be thorough. To the library and hunters’ quarters she went, gifting swarms of black scuttlers to whosoever lay within.
Yersinia came to the lowest level. It seemed that it was here that the Stanzascale clan preferred to confine the most dangerous aspects of the lair. A spacious room that was part laboratory and part forge. The former showing signs of heavy use and the latter having been allowed to grow cold.
However, none occupied the room, so the Mirror did not linger.

Noises that were distinctly dragon in origin drew Yersinia to a closed door. The Plague Mirror listened and her expression soured. Her interest here was testing who of the survivors might be saved, with those maddened by the curse of the Shade, she had no business. Having visited every area not locked and bolted, Yersinia made her departure.
Had it grown quieter?
Perhaps the clan would fall.

The full account of the Stanzascale clan’s final outbreak.

The Skies of Ember clan wasn't prepared for Yersinia's visit, everyone was recovering from the past two mirrors' visit and so the clan was asleep. Even the dragon who was to meet Yersinia had fallen asleep on the entrance.

Yersinia scattered some fleas on the sleeping dragon who was supposed to meet her and proceeded to enter the abode. She went through some dark tunnels lighted by pink chalcedony but somehow she noticed that she was going in circles. Yersinia frowned it was the first time she encountered this kind of magic. The mirror had to applaud who did this though since this would deter any intruders especially those who were infected by the shade plague. Yet how will she accomplish her mission if she can't find her way to the clan's main abode?

The mirror decided to return to the entrance yet where is the entrance? She didn't what to do until a plague familiar appeared out of nowhere. "Will you lead me to where the clan rests?" The familiar nodded and gestured to follow her quietly. The dead disciple lead Yersinia through hallways and tunnels that made her dizzy it was a wonder how one intruder ever escape this maze-like tunnel.

Finally they arrived at the heart of the tower, a garden representing the landscape of Sornieth. There was a floating spiral staircase at the center held by a bright pink light which leads to a floating island. The familiar tugged Yersinia's wing and led her to the clan's lair. There Yerse spread her gift to the sleeping dragons.

Yerse didn't stop linger anymore after she did her job, with the dead discipline leading her outside. she thanked the familiar and continued on with her mission.

When Yersinia arrived, the clan was running around trying to clean things up for they had a few new additions coming today. The clan had finally befriended both a skycat and bonefiend and were awaiting their arrival. With all the bustling around Yersinia skulked right into the lair, under the cover of the shadowy brambles. It wasn't until Eike stumbled over her that her presence was detected. He apologized over and over again and called attention to the rest of the clan that their guest had arrived.

Yers was conducting her duties, infecting the dragons one by one, when the familiars finally arrived. As the dragons welcomed the new familiars they were additionally brought to greet Yersinia.

With her job done, it was time for Yersinia to be on her way. She was given the customary glowing mushroom as well as a maple leaf and a map to guide her travels. As she packed her goodies, she asked for one more item to document her stay: a picture with the skycat and bonefiend. The clan's artist, Azucar, kindly obliged.

It was noon by the time Yersinia made it to cla Adelaron; she would have arrived earlier and on time had she not been held back by a squabbling pair of enormous Ridgebacks blocking the only way into the clan. But luckily one from Adelaron came, mediating the bickering two and sending them on their way with claims of informing their clan heads should they attempt to block off a clan lair again. The female we light on her feet, yet walked at a slow and sedate pace that told of age far beyond that of Yersinia.

"Welcome, Plague bringer. I am Maat, clan seer and Mage trainer, I will also be among the few you see this day. Our clan matriarch sends her apologies and regrets for not meeting you, but an upstart in the beast clans have kept up all busy these past few days. But fret not, you're in capable claws; my bones may be old, but my magic has never faltered when I need it." the old Tundra smiled from beneath her hood, eyes aglow as she winked playfully at the Mirro.

She and Yersinia wandered around the clans lair for most of the afternoon, settling when the female finally admitted the heat was getting to her. "Now then, parting gifts. We've many things, mostly stones and gems that have found their way here with Itzli, our merchant head. He's quite a good barter, and most of his gambles have done well for our clan. Of course we have other things to choose from, armor being a second choice; we have good standing with forgers from the Flamecaller's domain, only the best armor stays with us." she told her, but then stopped and looked into the distance.

"We have another item you may be interested in.. Or rather a companion who may do you better than his former dragon. Jila was killed some days ago, and his familiar had been out of sorts you see. A fine companion, the Qiriq is, but he's restless now. Perhaps he'll do you better." Slapping her tail on the ground loudly, a sudden groaning scream tore the air before a Qiriq appeared, dancing angrily around before settling. With a look at the fierce beast, Yersinia had decided upon taking him with her, knowing the company would be good and a battler as he would aid in any skirmishes she came across.

The hunters, a pair of Mirrors, were out watching for today's visitor when Yersinia arrived. Though they greeted her with caution, a sociable head-bump was enough to pass on a few fleas, and in a matter of hours the whole clan was itching. Patch collected a few extra specimens for study, while Tristan tried his best to encourage the others to be positive (though it would've helped if he wasn't wildly scratching and brushing at his scales all evening).

The Scatterspark dragons did their best to entertain their visitor, with tales of battles, stories, and songs, but the sicknesses were beginning to take their toll. Anais and Adam made a point, though, to thank Yersinia quite sincerely for her services. It's not easy to travel so far from home, as both of them knew, and anything that would make their clan stronger was appreciated.

Just after nightfall, Yersinia was on her way again, with the same sorts of gifts Clan Scatterspark had bestowed upon their other visitors: smooth stones and bits of wire to remind her of the Shifting Expanse, a thresher tooth on a leather cord for courage, and plenty of provisions to get her by until she reached her next destination.

Clan Twinstar was in an uproar over what they had just been through. It was bad enough to have not one, but two Plague dragons visit their lair only to infect everyone. But what was worse, was that the Imperial dragon, Leon, had invited them there without anyone else in the clan knowing. Despite Leon's insistence that the remaining Mirror dragons be allowed to continue their work, Kelran and the other members of the clan's ruling council were unanimous- this madness had to stop now. No more Plague dragons would be allowed to enter the clan's stronghold until further notice, save for those few that were already members of the clan.
And so when Yersinia arrived not long after, she found the lair's gates locked and barred against her.
"Clan Twinstar will have nothing more to do with you or your plagues!" one of the guards called out. "Now be gone!"
Yersinia merely shrugged and wandered off into the Starwood Strand. This was only a minor inconvenience. There were other ways to spread plague into a lair, after all.
A few days later, Verla, the clan's cook, went into the stocks to gather some ingredients when she found, to her horror, that they were infested by thousands of rats. An extermination team was quickly assembled to wipe out the pests. But unbeknownst to the clan, these rats had been summoned by Yersinia, slipping into the clan's stronghold through cracks in the walls. The rats carried fleas, and the fleas carried a disease even more terrifying than anything they had faced yet- the black death.
Within days, most of the clan was suffering. Fevers, aches, chills, and even another outbreak of gangrene had affected most of the stronghold's inhabitants, and the clan's medics simply couldn't keep up. Naturally, Kelran and the other Tundras had gotten the worst of it with their thick coats of fur. With so many dragons out of action, it wasn't long before Yersinia was able to walk right in and infect anyone who had escaped the biting fleas.
By the time the Mirror dragon had moved on, the stronghold was in disarray. Everyone in the clan was feeling miserable and weak. And the worst part was that if Leon was correct, there were still three more plagues to go...

In the lair

Yersinia AKA the Black Plague was originally scheduled to visit the Clan of Roaring Waters earlier, but due to an unexpected conflict she was rescheduled to visit them later. Now Yersinia stood on the ocean shore, wondering how she was supposed to reach the next lair if it was at the bottom of the ocean.

Fortunately she didn't have to wait long before a welcoming party came to greet her. Radiance, the clan leader herself came to see her. Using water magic, Radiance and Yersinia rode the currents to the clan's underwater lair in a giant bubble. "Welcome to our home," Radiance said as the clan rushed out to greet her. "Sorry for the delay. We must thank you and your fellow plague-sharers for taking the time to come all the way out here to spread the Plague Flight's strength. We are a clan that is dedicated to fighting off the Shade and its brood, and we know that Sorneith will need all the strength it can get to fight off the Shade Plague."

It was certainly a much different welcome than Yersinia expected. The clan brought out its best dishes for her, squishy octoflyer tentacles with gooey insides and blueridge fin steak cooked medium rare, just how she liked it. She regaled them with tales of the Scarred Waste, which the clan loved, and tales of her travels and how other clans treated her, which shocked the clan - for Yersinia was actually quite pleasant when expected and welcomed with open arms. Yersinia even got to wear a full set of Shadowscale armor and battle in the Mire, which she greatly enjoyed - even when a Southmarsh Podid knocked her out.

Of course, once the matter of how she was to spread the plague came up, dragons started arguing. The head cook Gleaming, who was also the second-in-command of the clan, refused to let her near the food supplies. The familiar caretakers, Obsidian and Spectacular, wouldn't let her get too close to the familiars. Finally the clan healers, Thistlepuff, Satsuma, and Waveskimmer came up with a solution. They took a blood sample from Yersinia , as well as some nail clippings and shed scales. They would then use those samples to create a vaccine for the whole clan. After donating the samples, Yersinia thanked the clan and left. While it was nice to stay with a clan that didn't chase her out on first sight, she still had a lot of ground to cover before her mission could end.

Onslaught only met Yersinia very briefly, long enough to only contract the virus she carried in order to build immunity to yet another sickness. It has been Gia, a Plague dragon and Onslaught’s war adviser that had escorted Yersinia around their clan, playing host.
Yet again, the clan’s Trick of the Light followed the unknown Plague dragon around like an honor guard, following her all the way back out to their borders; turning back to her clan only when Yersinia was out of site.

Yersinia was met and welcomed into the clan by Shaula, the Clan's Plague ambassador. She explained to her that she has only just missed Gangrenous after her visit to the clan - continuing on about how excited she was to be able to host them all.

As she entered the lair, Shaula showed her to the guest den where she was offered food, and introduced to her little helper for her stay with the clan, a Plague Sprite and an Infectionst's Emblem to adorn her while she went about her duties.

She was taken immediately to the Medics to pass on the innoculations, provide samples and discuss various treatment methods. Surprised at how quickly her duties were completed, she retired to the guest's den for some food before continuing on with her mission.

Yersinia with the Council

After traveling a bit from the light flight, Yersinia arrived to the lands of home, Plague. She stumbled upon an unknown land that not many dragons knew, however she was told to arrive here. After several hours of wandering around, she stumbled upon Xiome, a little Fae that no longer has the ability of flight. Xiome kindly took Yersinia to her clan, in which she met Tyve and her brot hers.

After the four chatted a bit, telling adventures of their own and new experiences, Yersinia had to go. She rested up in the guest den and soon morning came right around the corner. She smiled at her new founded friends and took off. Knowing fully well that flying to the nature flight will be long and tiring.

Apart of the council, for a bit

Yersinia staggered as she reached the shore of the Gladeveins. The other Mirrors could take a rest by swimming or floating on the ocean on their way to the Viridian Labyrinth, but Yersi had some very important passengers that she didn't want to drown. Compounded with her comparatively tiny wings, Yersi had a very hard time getting to the Nature lairs. She hoped it would be worth it.
Marrow, knowing another Mirror was coming some time, was keeping watch as Yersi stumbled up to the lair, too tired to sneak. Marrow caught up to Yersi and asked what she brought. Yersi started. Someone knew? Marrow explained that she knew what was happening and that she was the clan healer, so it would be really helpful to know what she'd be curing this time, because the last Mirror left too quickly to get any information out of.
Yersi grinned and gave her spiel. "I bring the Black Death upon anyone who crosses my path..." She shook herself to show off the fleas on her shiny coat.
Marrow led Yersi into the clan. A couple dragons groaned. Another weird traveling Mirror? Riverwanderer poked his head out of his lair in curiosity, followed by Hudson flying between River's wings. Yersi immediately walked up to them and started ingratiating herself to the small Nocturne now resting on River's head. Both Hudson and River looked quite embarrassed by the attention, and River shied away as Yersi rubbed up against him and tried to wrap her tail around his leg. No one would know whether Yersi really was infatuated by either or was just acting for her mission, but when River backed away Yersi did too.
With the clan leader's permission, Yersi got to stay the night. And she was so tired, she didn't worry about spreading her disease further. The fleas were on two dragons, and the food pile - that would have to be enough. She slept deeply, but woke before any of the others and snuck out before she had to tell anyone "goodbye".

Does Yersinia have the hots for Hudson too? Perhaps we'll never know...

Not even this angry disease was powerful enough to help Panic. He was far too gone. When the Black Death arrived, it spread completely throughout the clan. Not a soul was left behind, except for Panic. Death couldn't cure him.

It was full dark by the time Yersinia reached her next destination and came to a stop when a large imperial male suddenly appeared in front of her with a sword strapped to his side, he stared at her a moment before calmly saying, "Are you the one we've been waiting for? You were suppose to arrive in the afternoon. Ah well, I guess it doesn't really matter what time you begin to spread your disease."

The female mirror studied the fellow for a moment, trying to figure out what he might be feeling. There hadn't been any cues in his speach to relay any emotion, it was almost like listening to a fae. She finally nodded while slowly approaching him, her own words were firm as she said, "Yes, I'm Yersinia. Bringer of the Black Death."

"And I am Azusa. A humble inventor, although not nearly as creative as Jet. She is out of sorts and probably won't be around to greet you. She lost a daughter to your Plague brother and feels bitter that the clan leaders are continuing with this uh, project." There, she caught the tensing of his shoulders and the undeniable note of anger in the last word he said.

She glanced away from him as they neared the lair's entrance, the lintels were decorated in ancient runes. Looking back at Azusa, she quietly said, "I take it, someone believes that runes are a good defense against infectious diseases? But I will tell you this, long ago the clans of Fire got it right. You have to fight fire with fire if you want to beat it! I was told you have a healer that is working on making a defense?"

The imperial shrugged, then shook his head in dismay. "I know Minnie's been working on something called an 'innoculation' but beyond that, I haven't a clue. Medicine was never a subject I paid much attention to, and it's probably too late to start now." His voice had gone back to that dead tone, Yersinia took it as his way of coping with what was happening to his clan.

"Your clan leaders are wise enough to understand that a danger is growing, one that's unlike any dragonkind has dealt with before..", her words ceased as they entered to lair and two faes flew towards them. The female landed on her guide's back and spoke in ernest. "I hope your journey here was without trouble, we expected you to arrive well before dinner. But delays are bound to happen, why I remember once...", she started, then suddenly began to weep. Her mate landed next to her and wrapped her in his wings, nuzzling her as he addressed their guest.

"It's alright, she's still mourning the loss of Leyre. Jet's daughter. It was sudden but thankfully quick, the girl never said anything to anyone about how ill she truly was." He looked at Azusa and nodded. "Please show our guest around, and see if Cirrus is still hanging around in the kitchen. I'm sure Yersinia's hungry after traveling so far."

It was an odd reception, everyone that wss still awake seemed not concerned in the slightest that they were being infected with each bite of a flea. As her visit finally drew to an end, a female tundra approached her and stared through reddened eyes. This must be the mother of the young lady that died, Yersinia thought to herself. And was proven correct when the woman finally spoke. "I'm trying to understand you and your siblings mission but it's so very hard, especially when you lose one that's too young to die. Please remember me and my daughter, so that at least the memory of our names shall not die."

The Plague mirror was stunned as Jet turned and left, she had fully expected an angry diluge or at least ranting. Just as the tundra's tail was slipping around a corner, she called out, "Thou arte Jet, dam of Leyre. Both of the clan Manatou. Your courage and sacrifice shall never be forgotten!" With that, she bid the clan leaders goodbye and headed off to her next destination with a small dot of moisture running from the corner of an eye.

Yersinia's next stop was a nature clan, known as "Silver leaves",thought to be honest, while she was looking forward to seeing a another clan,a NATURE clan no less, after all it was unlikely she'd see one again. being born of the great plaguebringer, dragons were also..very nervous around her, dispite the fact that they had AGREED to allow her to spread her disease to this clan, and spread she did, infecting a pair of imperials known as belladona and Vulcan.Along with a Nocturne named Cora,Who seem to get the worst of it,but the rest of the clan seemed..hesitant.

dispite the fact that this was needed to fight the shade plague, but they would come around before she left this clan..she was sure of it,with dragons already infected within the clan it was only a matter of time before the rest of the clan came around..only a matter of time, before she left she offered to go on a hunting patrol with some of the clans best hunters, spreading her disease to the hunters while hunting, though during the patrol it seemd a female,Queen, was giving her looks of utter hatred, but she did manage to make..at least one friend, his name was cookiesandcream,The other wildclaw resident t of the clan...right before she left she was called to the leaders den,The Ice blue coatl stared at her, with a look that was a mixture of,gratitude and distaste..Yersinia felt bitterness well up in the back of her mind, these dragons were so ung-"Thank you" she had said,"you have ensured my clans survival...for that i am forever grateful...even if a few may die...if it is to preserve my legacy..." She went silent,Yersinia remained silent before turning and opening your wings,"I will never forget this place.." and with that she took off into the air, this had been...intreasting..?

Cypher awoke to the sight of a mirror with dark scales and red eyes leaning in his face. Leaping backwards with an undignified yelp, Cypher scrambled away from the mirror.
Yersinia frowned, annoyed that she’d woken up the skydancer. Darn it! And I’d almost completed my task.. “Huh.. what a disappointment.. thought the leader of the Kitsune Clan would be.. less.. you..” The mirror murmured aloud, watching Cypher. “HEY. I’m a perfectly fine leader I’ll have you know,” Cypher complained, standing up and giving Yersinia the hairy eyeball. “Oh really? I don’t see any scars on you.. Unless you’re referring to that papercut,” Yersinia retorted. “It was from a rogue.” “Seriously? What, a rogue hatchling?” “....Maybe.”
Yersinia burst out laughing, laughing so hard that a cascade of tears ran down her snout. “That must’ve been embarrassing. The great leader of Kitsune Clan, felled by a hatchling. Ooh, let me guess, was it a fae?” Cypher looked indignant. “No! It was an imperial. The biggest imperial you’ve ever seen?” “The biggest imperial hatchling you’ve ever seen?” “...She was vicious I tell you! Vicious! She tried to poison me too.”
“Really?” Yersinia said, wiping the tears off her face. “Sounds like my kinda girl.” “..Are you here to poison me?” Cypher questioned, head and neck feathers fluffed out. “Ehh, no. Not really,” Yersinia said, pausing and looking as if she were thinking really hard about something. “Nooo, just here to make your whole clan sick.” “WHAT?!?”
“Oh, and by the way,” she started, before sneezing on Cypher. “Now, my job is done.” And with that, the mirror turned tail and bolted, laughing all the way as she escaped the lair.

Yersinia getting away with Plague-ing

If Starsky had thought the last two visitors were bad, they were in for something good. Yersinia arrived by nightfall to the small nature clan and wasted no time with greetings. The large imperial who stood sentry watched on with a grim expression, eyeing the horizon every so often. The first signs of infection showed as the sun rose. Though none had been truly hurt by these plagues, it was only a matter of time before one did. He flew down to the awaiting plagueling and stood by her silently for a few moments as Meadow immediately got to work. He looked at her briefly and sighed before flying back up to her perch, not wanting to get ill and leave the clan unguarded.

Her work finished, Yersinia took flight one last time, back to her homeland...
