In an effort to bring the clan's guard forces back to their original purpose, several clutches were hatched. The dawnguard, making an effort to outdo their dark bretheren, had two in close succession resulting in a pile of golden, glinting pearlcatcher hatchlings growing up together under Terrowin's supervision.

In the middle of this, one stood out as a careful, deliberate thinker. Surrounded by sisters, he found himself in much demand as the only boy - and as such he learned to consider every situation before entering into it, even as a very young hatchling. However, his methods for dealing with conflict were often inventive and involved inspiring the rest of his generation to very elaborate games of pretend - his favourite was pirate, much to the chagrin of Captain Terrowin, his father.
