Biography
|
Faith and Hope raised Barloc with stories of their family and the shadows that hunted their grandparents and how the nature clans took in the two refugees and protected them from their enemies. They taught him to be proud of his heritage and to pass the blessings of the nature clans on to others. When Barloc reached adulthood, he decided he would leave to visit one of the clans that had rallied around Exaltling and her mate Sentinel. Upon reaching the lair of the Rising Phoenix clan, Barloc was welcomed with open wings. Should he decide to stay or leave was his and his choice alone, but after a few days with the clan he was already feeling very much at home. The clan leaders were a little nervous that the hunters would try and come after him so they began to devise a plan to keep him safe. The first step in their plan was to find a new look for the fluffy Tundra, so when the clan got enough funds they made a tribute to the Glademother and his appearance was altered to his liking. Barloc even found some clothing that he thought looked wonderful and even stumbled upon an endless supply of his favorite roses, their petals were especially delectable. After a short visit from his grandmother, Barloc began to truly settle in with the Rising Phoenix clan. He began making friends with the other dragons, specifically an older male Skydancer called Arnulf. Arnulf had been a part of the clan since the leaders created it, and he was one of the wisest and respected dragons in the clan. The Skydancer's knowledge of the stars, and the sky in general greatly amazed the Tundra and Barloc began to learn from the elder. Then came the day when the hunters found their clan. It was very early in the morning and the clan was welcoming new hatchlings into the world when a small band attacked them. One of the new fathers, Ekaitz, was lost in the battle as he defended Barloc and his own son. This left Ekaitz's mate Indra nearly inconsolable and the little Spiral son was left clinging to Barloc's leg for days. The Tundra vowed that day to protect the little one for as long as he breathed in order to make sure that Ekaitz's sacrifice would not be in vain. Now, as he grows older Barloc has been presented with the question if he will ever settle down with a mate of his own. And if he does, will he continue his Strider line or will he deviate from it and take a non-Strider mate. This is where he cannot decide. The Tundra wants to preserve his bloodline, yes, but he also doesn't want to put any new hatchlings in any danger either. So, for now, he has kept himself squarely out of the mate market until he makes his decision. |
