Iota scratched at the inside of whatever was encasing her. What was it? She kept scratching, what was it? The thing cracked and she poked her nose out. It was cold! She shivered and started scratching more, breaking the thing more. Squeezing her way out, she rolled onto a pile of something soft. Licking her lips, she tasted something sticky on her skin. She wiped at her eyes and blinked awake. Whatever she was looking at was dark, and she heard scratching nearby. Turning on the now sticky substance, she reached over and scratched at the white thing. It reminded her of what she had just gotten out of. She scratched until it broke and she rolled backwards a bit, watching as something started to sliver out. It whined loudly and Iota tipped her head, what was it? Pawing gently at it, it whimpered and grabbed her little stubby legs, pulling her closer. Iota followed easily and curled up to the squirming thing, which hugged her tightly.
When Iota woke up again, something was picking her up. She whined as the thing that had been holding her cried and she was turned over to see a face. It tipped it's head at her and gently rubbed her little chest, "Iota."
Five years later and Iota ran as fast as she could. With her brother Chu'si on her back, she felt unstoppable. She could do this, she had been practicing for weeks, and now was her time to shine.
Gaining as much strength as possible in her legs, she pushed off the ground and flapped her wings down, hard. Again, and again, and she was in air. Hearing her brother let out a "Whoa!" she balanced herself out and continued to fly.
