Biography
End || Hatchling Caretaker
Unsure of what to believe and who to trust.
___________________________________________________________________________________
Intelligent. Compassionate. Respectful.
Introverted. Cowardly. Skeptical.
End, a Spiral dragon of Light descent, has lived through what some would call a rough childhood. He remembers little to nothing about his parents and his numerous siblings. Nearly all of End's family had been sent off to serve whatever deity desired a new faithful follower, whether they followed that deity or not. He and his siblings had all been destined to share the same fate: exalt 'fodder'. End was often passed about from clan to clan and prepared for exaltation to their deities.
End seemed to have finally found a permanent home in the form of Lusolth. While the ideals of the Plaguebringer and the Gladekeeper were pounded into his mind, like so many clans had previously attempted with their countless deities, End found solace in the worship of the Lightweaver. The pale yellow eyes that End was born with established a sense of familiarity with the goddess. Not only did he find comfort in the physical connection he held with his preferred deity, their common lust for knowledge and understanding linked him to her. Knowing Lusolth, and by extension Morus, would disapprove, he keeps his beliefs and personal ideals a secret. Despite this clash in ideology, End sees the Purgatory clan as his true family.
Now, as an adult, End is the designated caretaker of the hatchlings Lusolth takes in. While Lusolth is revered by most of the children, End often is the one doing the hard work of ensuring they are fed, safe, and educated. He is employed with the task of instilling Purgatory beliefs and ideals. End must often swallow his pride when it is time to teach about the false wonders of the two deities the clan worships.
Not only does he disagree with the values of his clan, he has overheard questionable things about Lusolth. In addition, he's witnessed some subtle yet unsavory Wildclaw favoritism from the priest and founder. End is beginning to fear his found family is being led to tragedy by an aspiring prophet hungering for blood and power.
His love of hatchlings and his desire to prevent them from experiencing the same tragedies that he had endured as a child put him in a great struggle. End often wonders if he is simply biased due to traumatic experiences in childhood. Perhaps it makes him view everything critically, and he is too pessimistic to believe in Lusolth's ability to change and inspire peace.
One thing is certain: if he wants to make accusations against his clan's founder, he better have indisputable proof. Else, it'll be the End of the line.
Unsure of what to believe and who to trust.
