And on occasion, the shining eyes and insides of travellers foolhardy enough to wander into the ruins, Nil’s ruins without gifts.

Nil remembers how every piece of their hard won treasure found its way here. Nil remembers the faces of the travellers he sees, the tales that they tell, the way that they smell.

Nil does not remember their life before the ruins. Only that they are theirs, and theirs alone. Travellers should be grateful that Nil does not immediately hunt them down when they sense their presence.

Nil, is not a dragon. Nil speaks the same tongue, yes, but sphinxes are not dragons. How could anyone mistake Nil for one? Nil does not appreciate being compared to a dragon. The thieves that want to take Nil's treasure! How greedy, how selfish!

They think Nil some... some creature with no mind? No voice? No feelings?
Shameful!

Nil is willing- no, Nil is happy to talk with others. But it's hard to talk when all Nil can see are their backs as they scurry away like frightened mice.
