Sodalite
The Vortex Weaver

Name: after the rock sodalite.

YOUTH.

Sodalite was a bit unfortunate with his name. His nickname is Soda. Because of it, he's rather insistent that everyone calls him by his full name (this particularly applies to his sisters Halce and Anthraci), and generally would like to be taken seriously. He tries to act more mature than his sisters, and he's found the source for this maturity in his devotion to the Windsinger. Due to this he takes a great pride in being a Spiral (the Spirals are the true children of the Windsinger, if you ask him), and seeks to follow Windsinger's wishes as closely as possible. His biggest dream is of "a thousand screaming vortexes", although everyone tends to tell him that that really wouldn't be a good idea.

LEADERSHIP

During the second Battle of the Bay, Sodalite had taken up the role of the Vortex Weaver, the clan's strategist and battle leader. He'd matured a lot after having to handle so much responsibility, and started struggling with new doubts in his life. He'd also befriended Lorelei and Aeolus, whom he'd become very close with. With time, his playful rivalry with Aeolus grew into true affection, and then love: the two had gotten married on the shores of Windstar Bay in memory of the event that brought them together in the first place.

With time, both Aeolus and Sodalite retired from their leadership positions, choosing a quieter life together. Sodalite had grown more mature still, finding a new way to look at the world and take Windsinger's teachings not literally, but spiritually. The skies were filled with color in this time of peace, and the songs of wind carried always through the Plateau.

THE SHADE

No life goes forever unbroken.

As the Shade flooded the Plateau, it found Sodalite's mind only seemingly peaceful - the doubt still festering underneath, he was an easy target. What had been peace turned into stagnation, where there was certainty there was now disarray. For all that Sodalite had done, the Windsinger never replied to neither his nor Aeolus's sacrifices. The skies were empty, the howl of winds a monotone note. Alone, Sodalite looked up at the colourless world.

And there it shone through, the abyss unrelenting.
