Azael
Azael was born into the world with two healthy sisters. While they weren't close, they were never mean to one another. Each one had their own interests, though the sisters were definitely happier with each other rather than Azael. He didn't mind.He was born with a power that let him influence the happiness of others. He loved the bright, bubbly feeling of joy, and the carefreeness it carried. He brought the light of the emotion to many, never looking back on what he did. One day, his family decided to take a walk along the border of the Plague domain. His father wasn't present because he was on a "work-trip," though his mate and children all knew that he was on a mission for gaining intel. He was greeted by the unlikely sight of a sobbing Spiral, head buried in the thick ropes of his body, shaking. He felt depressed by the site, and tried to make the dragon happy by sending good vibes towards him, but all his efforts were thwarted. It was as if the dragon's heart was an endless abyss, and all the happiness in the world would never fill it. Instantly, Azael's curiosity in the dragon was piqued. However, his mother hid the Spiral. Later in his life, Azael would learn that this was because she was afraid that the leaders of the clan would take him away for he was a refuge of war. Time passed, but he never forgot about the howling dragon. He constantly wondered where he was. His mother occasionally visited him, but couldn't do so often, for that would attract suspicion. Sometimes, she brought back food that the mysterious dragon had hunted down, and stories that he shared. Most of them were sad. It was when he was growing into adulthood that his mother came to get them urgently one day. The dragon was leaving, and she wanted them to say farewell to him. Azael was excited to see how the dragon had progressed since he had last seen him. As he arrived, he saw that the dragon was certainly not in as much pain as before, but not much better. It was as if he was on fire before, but now he was nursing the burns. When it was his turn to wish goodbye to him, he felt gripped by a strong desire to join the dragon. He asked to join his quest, and to be his friend. After getting clearance from both the mysterious dragon and his mother, he left with him. He learned his name: Asiel. The two traveled far and wide. Nowhere was too far for the two of them. No cranny was too small, no ocean too vast, no desert too dry. The lands were their home, and they grew closer with each passing day. It taught Azael that the happiness that he had been floating in for as long as he could remember was only life's way of making up for missing out on the bigger emotion: love. The feeling was new, yet not foreign, to the Coatl. So when Asiel proposed starting a clan together, he agreed. |
On the outside, most see an innocent and faint-hearted dragon. Most see a dragon that is a coward in some ways, but a darling to most. Most take the smile on his face for pure bliss, not the warming grin of love. Inside, he is sophisticated and far-sighted. He can tell when most dragons are down, and can put love in their hearts. His innate powers have guided him through most of his life without a care in the world, but recently he has been trying to use his powers for the good of others, not just for the enjoyment of himself. The one he wants to make happy the most is Azael. He loves the dragon to bits, and knows how to make him smile, without using his powers. He aches to feel his comforting tail curl around him. He strives to impress the dragon. Azael, while one of the leaders of the clan, does very little to actually assist in the workings of it. Asiel does most of the work, unbeknownst to Azael. The Spiral tries to hide his massive workload from his partner, not wanting to burden him with it. Azael's free spirit has attracted the gazes of many different dragons. Sometimes the stares have been friendly; other times, hostile. Some are curious, and some are bored, as if they have seen this one too many times before. Yet, no matter what the dragon, he treats them with love and kindness. |
Azael nodded. "This is a good place to start." Asiel looked at him strangely. Was that a twinkle of pride in his eyes? The emotion dashed quickly as he noticed Azael staring. It wasn't as if it left him, just he covered it up seamlessly. "I agree," he said finally. Their camp under the stars were Asiel had first announced his plan would be the birthing grounds for Chronomaly. The ruins that they had stumbled upon were perfect for starting up a clan. "How do we begin?" Azael asked. The question hung in the air. Indeed, how does one begin a clan? There was no guarantee that dragons would be interested in yet another clan in the Sunbeam Ruins. The whole thing may become a flop, an embarrassing memory buried beneath others in the labyrinth of their minds. But, perfectly confident, Asiel replied, "With hope." |
I lift my tail
I brush a leaf off your nose
It gently falls and away it blows
The crisp and swift Autumn breeze
Sending ripples through golden trees
My dear friend, release your troubles
You showed me hope and kindness
You showed me a way through my struggles
Let me show you through your blindness
I can teach you the joy that you're missing
Let me explain, I see you're drifting
Do not dote on what might happen
Ask yourself what is happening now
Right here, together, don't you see?
I need you as much as you need me
I cannot tell you where our future is going
Relax, look here, and take a deep breath
But I can tell you to take solace in knowing
We will never part, not even in death
I brush a leaf off your nose
It gently falls and away it blows
The crisp and swift Autumn breeze
Sending ripples through golden trees
My dear friend, release your troubles
You showed me hope and kindness
You showed me a way through my struggles
