B I O G R A P H Y

Amerith was a gift from the great Tidelord used to tempt her father Raghnall back to the Sea after he had been consumed with the need for more power. He was struck by lightning before she was born and as a result he found that he had become infused with lightning that he was unable to control. He set out for the Shifting Expanse in the hopes of finding a cure, but instead he found knowledge that he was in possession of a rare magical gift and the need to know everything consumed his every being. Instead of returning back to his homeland once he’d gained control over his new powers, he chose to stay in the Shifting Expanse until the great Tidelord attempted to sway him back to the sea with the gift of a special egg containing Amerith.

Anlike her father, Amerith has been drawn to the sea from the moment she hatched from her egg. It seems to call to her with a siren’s song and she longs to spend all of her time as close to the sea as she can. She remembers a time when she was very young when she, her father and grandparents all lived by the sea together but the time was short and now she spends her days with her father hidden away in the depths of the Shifting Expanse. She very seldom gets the chance to set her eyes upon the sea, and when she does it is often under the cover of a storm at night when the sea is choppy and the winds are angry.

Like her father, Amerith has a type of magical abilities but instead of being inlined with lightning, her magic is inlined with water. While her control over her abilities is greater than her father’s was, she often has a hard time reigning them in. She often begs her father to return back to their home by the sea where she can find a teacher like he had back when he was starting to learn, but he always refuses. She can never seem to understand why he’s so quick to say no, or why it seems he’s so afraid to leave the Shifting Expanse but it brings her great sadness each time he utters the word.
