Early in her life Gorudu made the choice to leave her clan and go and serve the Earthshaker. She said her good-byes and left, knowing that they would flourish without her. She made her way to the place where Earthshaker slept and prayed, asking for what he'd like her to do. It was then that an Earth Sprite came to her and gave her a purpose, her duties. Happy to serve she did the tasks without question. Sometimes she would come across other dragons from her Clan who decided to serve the Earthshaker. She learned of their growth, new members, all the hatchlings, the fighters who were protecting the Clan. Whenever she'd stumble upon one of those dragons she would get a ping of sadness in her heart, she missed them. Gradually the longing to be with the clan grew stronger and stronger. In her younger days she had been sure that she wanted to serve the Earthshaker, sure that she wouldn't have regrets and that was her path. Older and wiser, Gorudu realized that she had been hasty in wanting to see the Earthshaker and that her path would eventually lead her here, but she'd walked down it too soon. Instead of wallowing in her longing for home, Gorudu took to her daily tasks with new vigor and determination. There would be no time to miss the clan, she'd tell herself as she worked diligently. It took her a week or so to get a rhythm going, she'd wake up at down, work all through the day and go to sleep when the sun set, giving herself no time to think about missing her clan. It went on for weeks, until the same Earth Sprite that had given her the duties she did every day came to her. The conversation was quick and to the point, the Earth Sprite told her that the Earthshaker was willing to let her return to her clan, if that was what she wanted. However there would be a price. She would only be able to return as a wraith like being, for now. It would take time for her to get acclimated to being physical again, and it would be easier on her mind if she slowly returned. The dragons of her clan would be able to see her and hear her, but she would not need food or water until her body was completely restored. Knowing that it was a great boon that she was being given Gorudu agreed and that night she was returned to her clan, the Earth Sprite leading the way. (Lore by TeaRex) |
