Biography
Macavity (Forneus) Master Translator/High maintenance pain in the tail Mated to Ambriel |
Forneus was born to a pair of Light dragons, and quickly learned that there was more than one way to survive in the harsh plague territory. Though his quick witted parents held physical prowess and intimidation techniques, they bestowed many a gift of cunning onto young Forneus, which he absorbed like a sponge.
Departure from the Nest
Upon reaching adolescence, Forneus decided that though he could make a figurative killing in the Scarred Wasteland, he had a strong distaste for the literal killing, and felt there were definitely more fun places to be. Drawn immediately into the neighboring Tangled Wood, he felt an immediate connection to the tricky folk who inhabited the luminescent grounds.
Soon enough, Forneus dropped his birth name in games of deception and become known as Macavity. Slowly approaching adulthood, Macavity began to crave a clan and lairspace of his own, and knew in his heart he couldn't settle down in Shadow with his friends, for his heart desired more than competition, and he felt it would take too much effort to see through a lie aimed at the heart. Thus began his journey to the Windswept Plateau.
A Clan of Weirdos
After reaching Windsinger's territory, a pair of chocolate dragons caught his eye-- a fae and a coatl. Sensing their authority, Macavity decided to introduce himself to the pair: In draconian and with faelike gestures. The fae, Gully, immediately took a liking to him, while the coatl, Ambriel, was taken aback and withdrew herself from the conversation. Having the blessing of one of the Conductors of the clan, Macavity finally had a place he could call home, though his ambitious thirst was far from quenched.
His feathers and scales always perfectly groomed, tongue of silver but highly vocal of his opinions, Macavity does his best to shine and boost his ego. A strong distaste for his Plague aligned clanmates, as he feels they are not at all refined or otherwise have "temperaments of vipers". The only exception to this is Vel, though she still reminds him of the worst parts of Shadow. Ambriel was of huge interest from the first moment he laid eyes on her, but remained wary, immune to his charms, his talents, and low key physical displays. Ambriel is the only dragon in the clan who calls Macavity by his birth name, as her familiar made the name known to her, and that the name got on Mac's nerves.
After the emergency move to the Lightweaver's domain, Macavity feels even more at home in the sunlight, and both close enough to his old homes to feel comfortable, and far enough away to feel safe and free. With the added duties piled onto Ambriel due to Gully's sabbatical, she has even less patience for this coatl. Tangaloor, Amaterasu, and Acacia can see how Macavity could be a good thing for their Conductor, but Ambriel refuses to hear any of it.
