Biography

Perhaps influenced by his mother's love of natural beauty, Astor has taken it upon himself to make the land around the Sunbeam Lanternhouse as exquisite as possible: pruning the trees, nurturing the flowers, smoothing the land.

This sometimes often brings him into conflict with Ila: her pits are a scar upon the clan's territory.

She, of course, takes offense at his snub of her Charge.

But his outrage cannot compete with her absolute stubborn devotion to her Charge. He's finally given up trying to beautify her pits, particularly since the arrival of Calanthe. His new work partner, much more gentle with her words than he, has taken a great deal of the burden from his shoulders.

Now, much of his time is devoted to maintaining his garden of bonsai:
