She was born under the waxing moons, when the constellation Opulent Broadleaf was in the House of the Manticore in the night sky over the Expanse. According to all the best astronomy guides available, this should be an ideal configuration for genius or another fellow astronomer. It is less ideal, one could argue, for a girl. But not all things in this world are explainable. True to the star charts, Roxy cares little of worldly possessions and material gain. She much prefers to star gaze. To spend her days studying them and her nights observing them. She travels the land looking for meteorites for her collection of space paraphernalia, and seeing to it that the things in her possession are kept in good condition for further studies in the future.. She has an almost preternatural knack for knowing the constellations and planets and all of their relative location. Given her kind nature, she can easily make friends although she does prefer her own company over others. Unlike most girls her age, Roxy is seldom found in the company of boys, as her father forbids it. Rather, she's typically found in the company of the many animals she's shown kindness too. The only thing that puts a smile on her face quicker than wandering the clan in search on new stars with her animal friends in tow is finding out what unusual capers her fellow clan mates of gotten themselves into that day. bio by NerdyDragon The most mysterious thing about this dragon, is that fact that since she came to the clan, she had not muttered a single word. People wonder if it a choice, or if she simply cannot speak. It's not until you get close enough to her face do you realise that her mouth is infact sewn shut. Aside from this disturbing fact, roxy lives a very normal life within the clan. Gratia, one of the clans three dancers, is her current mate, and acts as her own person translator, the pair seem to have a silent language, that's amazing to watch in action. Quiet quiet, Not a word shall leave your lips. by myself I think in ordered star charts I think in wispy clouds I think in the night's swift zephyr, I heed little to the ground. My head is so high up, I can just dance on the thin air, I can whisper to the moon, I can bathe it the stars' glare. Some may say it's batty, Maybe a little odd To think more of nebulas and galaxies Than of treasure or land abroad. But I would say they're too down low With their heads sweeping the earth: For were given wings for reason, Why not surrender to our sky's mirth? Of course, not it be said That stars are all that matter, We all need something to keep grounded, Or even the clouds would have me battered. But I know that one day, My eyes will grow weak and my feathers will fade, But make no mistake, that when I finish this life-long race, I'll give myself to the endless stars and space. by willow |
