B I O G R A P H Y

Everyone loved Briea, especially the hatchlings. They found her motherly nature and the pan flute at her hip quite calming. She could often be found soothing little ones to sleep with a lullaby on her flute or piping a jaunty tune along with her brother Chisko on the breezeway. The only dragon who could match her musicianship skill was her brother, though for a long time in Skyloft the only musician they had was Chisko.

Breia didn’t leave her home in the Forum of the Obscured Crescent until long after Chisko was cast out of the family. After come correspondence, delivered faithfully by Murmur, Breia decided to join her brother in Skyloft. The forum was a dreadfully grim and boring place to live, after all. She took her flute and hatchling plushies with her and soared until she met up with the Skyloft en route to their next location.

After settling in, which only took about a day, Breia appealed to Milan to open a nursery for the clan. It would benefit them to not have hatchlings zooming around the breezeway after Loretta finished with them, getting into things they shouldn’t. Milan agreed, employed Zahhak to raise a place for the nursery, and let Breia do all the hard work. She didn’t mind. She distributed her plushies to the babies and watched as they fluttered around to the songs she played on her flute.

_Prodigal Daughter_

____Breia adored all of her siblings, except for one, who none of the family ever spoke about. She especially adored Chisko, her fraternal twin, and for one fully supported his decision to play the lute. When it came time for her to choose her own instrument to learn, she went with the pan flute--the last time the flute was chosen in her family was by the unnamed relative who disgraced the coatl family.

Though the family disapproved of her choice, it was still a better one than Chisko’s. Obviously. She was allowed to continue studying in the Forum, but wrote to her brother on the sly. She learned of bright and happy Skyloft’s routines, Chisko’s supposedly beautiful new mate, and how unruly the hatchlings there were. Something needed to be done about them. Skyloft needed Breia’s maternal instincts. So Breia left, after many arguments with the remainder of the family, and never looked back.

____Like Loretta, Breia had unending amounts of patience. She took her time explaining the ways of the clan to her charges and assisted new mothers in any way she could. Many of the moms told Breia that she herself should be a mother, but Breia always disagreed. Her duty in life was not to raise her own babies. It was to help raise others’. Assisting mothers with laying their eggs was a gross, messy process Breia did not want to partake in again.

Breia had a brief tryst with a passerby whose name she couldn’t remember. He wasn’t much of a looker, she knew. But she was infatuated, so she spent some of her colder nights with him. It resulted in accidental eggs, which Breia was careful not to let Chisko know about. He would have freaked. So Breia cared for her eggs at night, resulting in exhausted days at the nursery. When they hatched and her lover had gone, she flew them to a nearby orphanage and never saw them again.
