One part scribe, one part historian, one part oracle, and one part cackling madwoman, Nel is something of a wild card. She spends most of her days writing, chronicling everything from clan expenditures to visions to bizarre fairy tales, and she is notoriously unpredictable in whether she's willing to share any of her work with others.

She keeps to herself for the most part, only to come forward at seemingly random moments with riddles and cryptic rhymes without ever bothering to specify whether they are genuine predictions, requests, progress reports, or merely poems she came up with for fun. These turn out to be useful frequently enough that the clan continues to tolerate her presence (and listen to her), but her cheerful enthusiasm for doom and gloom and the surprisingly dark nature of her stories has not won her many friends.
