Maizena
Maizena gazed at the different dragons who passed, looking at all the hatchlings in turn. Some of the hatchlings were picked up and examined closer by the adult dragons. So far no one had picked her up. She didn't know if you were supposed to be picked up or not, but some of those who were, were taken to a desk and then was brought out by the dragons who picked him/her up. "Hi there, little friend" a voice above her said. A fluffy, red tundra and a sleek green mirror dragon had stopped by her box and was peering down at her. "Hi" She squeaked back. "May I pick you up?" The red tundra said, "I want to check that all is ok with you". "Ok" Maizena squeaked again. Was she going to be brought to the table and out of the den? What was outside of the brown and grey stone-and-dirt-walls that had surrounded her the first 3 days of her life? Was there anything besides food, water and 2 big cuddle-carpets out there? Red fluff surrounded her, and as she was lifted up she saw the ground travel far away. She suddeny felt dizzy. "Oh, you're only used to walking?" two deep blue eyes the size of her mouth stared at her. The kind expression did not match her fiery red fur, but there was nothing unnerving about the dragon. "Will you come live with us?" she asked. Maizena cast a glance around. The ground was awfully far away, but the tundra's grip was strong yet gentle. She did not feel unsafe. "Ok" she squeaked. "Not a girl of many words" The green mirror said. Maizena had expected his voice to be darker and more... hissing... When she squeaked her thought out loud, he laughed. "Oh" he had said, "I'll show you a coatl. They are the ones that hissss". And so Maizena was carried to the desk, registered, and taken outside the lair for the first time she could remember. As the days passed, she grew. She learned that her adoptive mother Flamewheel was really a fierce warrior, but was always super kind to the hatchlings. As weeks passed, Maizena trained alongside her mother. Watching for the most part, she learned tactics, strengths and weaknesses of and from different familiars. In a month she was an equal member of the clan, a proud female and a fierce warrior like her red tundra mother. |

As time went by she saw less of Flame Wheel. Training took up most of her time and she made new friends, among them the clan's finest warriors, Burned and New Energy. She greatly respectthem, but also see them as her best friends. Her aim is to be trainers like them, and teach younglings to be real dragons. She takes great pride in being a dragon.

She has no mate at present, but do flirt with some of the males of the den. Nothing serious though, as and they know it. They also know she can kick their butts with her sharp claws. She will, however, have some fun once in a while, with clan members or visitors as long as they are atractive physically as well as mentally. As she has a prideful and teasing personality, her pet had to be a rageuff. The blue dot of fury is like her spirit while fighting. At home, however, she enjoys teasing the little bird until it is tired of attacking her. Its tiny beak and claws don't even tickle, and as the little bird has not flown away yet she believes they share some sort of bond. |

Maizena was borne in Mica's wind lair. She was borne a ridgeback female with maize clown, maize hypnotic and maize underbelly. She was unnamed until I got her for free from Mica's free dragons tread, called Freedom's nest. I immediately named her Maizena, as it maize flour and I had been making a lot of homemade chocolate pudding lately. And it was a punny name.
