Good intentions are never enough. Jhalmur knows this as he once was indeed, full of good intentions and they had never mattered, not to the deities above and not to the dragons at his side. But there was a time when he did believe it and in that time of youth and innocence, he explored the skies and lands with bright eyes, hoping for a great findings that would change dragonkind. His dream would become his downfall. Barely having a glimpse of what he could have, he had to give it up before he could taste it in exchange for the safety of his loved ones, who in time would leave him by forces he could not fight, control or predict. With the pass of the unforgiving time, he became more tougher, bitter and resentful of what he was denied and even more fierce with the idea of protecting what was left of his family to the point it scare them away too, leaving him only a greater role in the clan and an emptier life. A life that he still, somewhat, wishes to see full of the love and happiness he once knew...but how, if good intentions and the actions meant to bring happiness brought nothing but despair? For now he focus on working to exhaustion, making plans for the next expansion and thinking of new strategies for the defenses of the clan and faster wats to train the exaltees that come to fight for the cause, carrying a heavy hearth he must ignore to succeed. Or so he thinks  A War is not won by the "good guys". A war is won by those willing to compromise their nightly morality in order the defend their deepest ideas |
