BAROQUE...
All ridgebacks are seen to have an aggressive nature. Baroque is thought to be even more-so because his blood red scales. A lot of dragons choose to avoid him because the perceive him to be wild and savage, but his couldn’t be further from the truth. Baroque is a reserved, gentle and quietly spoken individual who has a love for reading. When he was very young, his mother told him many stories and taught him how to read. Books were difficult to come by in so he treasured the few that his family possessed. These idyllic days of reading with his mother did not last long though. As Baroque grew up, the other members of his clan took an interest in his large and fierce countenance. It was decided that he would be a protector or fighter for the clan. This decision was contrary to his wishes, and he pleaded with the clan leaders to give him a different job. They adamantly refused, saying that they could not waste the gift of his sturdy body and that this choice for for the well-being of everyone in the clan. Feeling disheartened and betrayed by his clan, he sought his mother’s advice. She agreed that the clan’s decision had merit, but she would always support her son in this matter. With a heavy heart, she told him his two choices; be a fighter in the clan or leave to peruse a new destiny. Baroque had no sentimental feelings for his clan, but the idea of leaving his mother saddened him greatly. He also knew that this was his only real option for happiness. He left suddenly in the middle of the night. His mother was the only one to bid him farewell. Later, he would find that his mother had carefully wrapped her precious books into his knapsack. Baroque silently wept that night, knowing that he might never see her again.... |

It is located on the north-eastern side of the Southern Icefields, in one of the smaller coastal mountains in the Cloudscrape Crags. |
