== PATRIARCH ==
“So be it.”

Strong - Moral - Anxious
a little long; shorter wings, a little heavy

==== PERSONALITY ====

Dune is a natural, if reluctant, leader. He can function well under pressure, and is easy to talk to and trust. That's not to say he is not prone to error-- indeed, he faces lots of anxiety, which he has eventually learned to control by asking for others' advice and assistance. He hasn't always been as slick as he is, but he does have a strong mind and is willing to do what it takes to solve problems in times of crisis. For better or worse, Haven Zero is always in crisis.

Dune's natural talents have made him lots of good relationships, and his natural anxiety has jeopardized many of them. In spite of his hindrances, he and Rayjack get along quite well. He's also known to talk often with Vincent, Jules, and Mamoru, Nine, and Makaio. His best friend, though, is Ozma. Where Ozma lacks in leadership, she exceeds in cunning, and vice versa; it was Ozma's schemes that brought Dune to power after Spanx's fall, and she is his primary advisor.
Dune also has knowledge of a secret band of dragons living within Zero territory-- he is not acquainted with any of them, but he knows of their mission and wishes them well, though he knows meeting with them personally would be dangerous.
Most dragons, including Rayjack, trust and accept Dune as the new leader of Haven Zero.

==== DAILY ROUTINE ====

Dune's rule isn't as oiled as Spanx's was-- in part because Spanx refuses to give up power. He spends much of his day scheming, but makes it a point to go out often; it builds trust and it alleviates anxiety. Most of his schemes revolve around figuring out Spanx's late night meetings: what magic goes on? What is her ultimate goal? Where does the magic originate, and how can it be stopped? What would happen if they stopped it?
Most politics happen in private, within his own quarters. Only a few dragons are present at his meetings at a time so as not to arouse suspicion; Spanx still claims leadership for herself. Dragons make it a point to rotate often so everyone gets a turn at the meetings. Even if one can't attend, decisions spread quickly by word-of-mouth, and if anyone has a problem they can simply address Dune himself. Obviously, this manner of government is clunky and error-prone, making Spanx's secession a priority.

==== ORIGIN ====

Dune traveled to Zero when he was young, looking for education; he struck off with enough dragons there to decide to stay. He was well-liked. However, the longer he stayed in Zero the more out-of-place he felt: the rest of the dragons here were outcasts, he was not. He felt doomed to never see things from their point of view. Gradually, he sunk into a depression. Then: he met Ozma.
Ozma helped Dune realize his potential in the most literal way: behind Rayjack, he was next most likely to lead... and as luck would have it, Ozma could see that both Spanx and Rayjack were going downhill. She gave Dune just the strength he needed to get back on his feet, and then, when the time came, to rally the clan.

SIGNIFICANT EVENT Oct. '16:
Dune finally took formal control of the clan, as the unnamed prophet foretold. The clan is world-weary and afraid, but Dune seems to know how to proceed: carefully. The clan has high hopes for him. His first major task is better recordkeeping.

==== CLOTHING + ITEMS ====

Dune hardly wore anything until shortly before his ascension. His trademark was always the literal fire around him, accented with more and more orange bits as time progressed. He's had a hard time keeping a familiar, but right now, he has a Steelhound, whose presence is mainly practical-- his emotional needs are met by his cat.
