Biography

Hades
Caretaker of the Nesting Grounds
o2Mk7My.png
Ds0JrCx.png Some would call him unstable, strange, off, out of it, or dangerous. On a scale of how wrong some are, this would be very wrong. The only reason Hades is descried as such is because his mother was a very strange one. She was the funeral director, among other things, at his former clan, and her reputation among stranger clans became his. The truth about Hades is something Persephone could easily describe, although she doesn't use the words Hades would. Persephone says he's a warm, kind-hearted individual who just has a dark sense of humor. Hades prefers the terms "knows how to treat others to get by" and "death is funny". While he does have a rather dark sense of humor, Hades has learned to hold it back, mostly while traveling from clan to clan. There has never been a real reason for him to stick around someplace for long. He never had a desire to do it. That, and mostly his jobs were boring like sorting out food, organizing books, or cleaning the nest. He didn't mind the nest as much as the other jobs, though. He was rather fond of children after they were far away from him.

It was during his trip to the south that he met Persephone. His Plague Sprite, a tricky little monster it is, decided to run off to go kill the only thing she could: flowers. While chasing after her and trying to keep himself out of trouble, Hades met Persephone, his future mate. If one was to tell him that at the time, he would have laughed and said "that bright, glittery thing? Please, that would be like falling in love with a pile of glitter". He was wrong about Persephone, though. He discovered she wasn't an air-head like her looks give off and, instead, was a strong and independent individual with a greater pool of knowledge than his own. He spoke with her for several days, learning about her soon-to-be engagement. Hades couldn't say he was disappointed, as he actually had no feelings for her at the time. So, without much regret, he left her when she decided to decline his invitation for travel. He had tried. That was all that mattered. He wasn't going to stay and fight two whole clans for the sake of his new friend. That was ridiculous. He had places to go. And go he went. Hades traveled to many clans after meeting Persephone, finding new places to settle, and he finally found a place in Arcane, one of the only lands he hadn't visited.

While he was getting settled, probably only to leave again, he received a letter from Persephone. Hades responded and sent the messenger back, promising not to leave the clan. After a while, it was decided that Persephone would join him, so Hades waited patiently for her, caring for the nest in the meantime. Once she arrived, Hades introduced her to everyone else, and she was assigned the same job as him. He expected her to object, being a princess and all, but Persephone agreed rather firmly and got to work with him, doing a better job than Hades could. So, he took to just keeping the eggs healthy, preventing disease from taking them. His Plague Sprite even helped, sometimes. Mostly, the monster went for killing some more flowers, but Persephone's power of ice prevented the Sprite from doing too much damage to the beautiful nesting grounds. After a while of working and living together, Hades and Persephone decided to become official mates. Nothing between them changed except that they sometimes cuddled together at night. Sometimes. Rarely. Hades would have to ask. He is fine with this.
