MORNINGGLORY The Crystalomancer/The Racer Lighthearted | ? | Serious | Distant Quite unexpected for an Earth dragon to take so well to flying but Glory simply believes since she has working wings she might as well use them. The fact she loves it is more to do with the fact she loves racing more then flying. Oh yes, she followed her Earth-bound roots into becoming a crystalomancer but her trade was a distant second to her love of racing, no matter how late she found it. As a crystalomancer she knows the best way to cut gems and stone to get the best use of them for whatever they're needed for, that is if they need to be cut at all. She knows what stones can help draw out negative energy and what can help bolster the positive and how much magic is packed within every inch. She can seek out veins of gems and know what, when and how. She loves her trade and so was content until she arrived at Clan Ghost Lights and came across the most peculiar opportunity. Meeting Oracion had been an unexpected surprise and they became mates after she took up the clan's Longneck Magi, ?, as her charge. They'd been living quite contently at the outer edges of the clan when she one day came across a flier for new set of races that was being sponsored by a clan over in the Shifting Expanse, new dragons to racing welcome. The clan was excited, talking about it any of them were going to enter but it seemed that while some were willing to take up the challenge most were just excited to watch. She would never have thought of joining herself if Oracion hadn't made a stray comment that got her to look at herself. She was small for a Guardian and far lighter as well with a wingspan nearly twice her size, she'd flown before with better results then her parents but had never considered herself good at it. As the day went on she found herself drawn back to the flyer until finally she decided she'd at least try it. It wouldn't cost the clan much if she failed and then she'd be able to move forward. She was touched that the whole clan supported her though, throwing in spare treasure so they wouldn't have to dig into the actual treasury to much. Oracion even accompanied her to the tryouts. There she was tested for speed, she doesn't know why, and was quite embarrassed to find she'd apparently set some kind of record if the frantic shouting of the testing dragons was anything to go by. The day of the first race dawned and she found herself quite excited for it but equally nervous ....finish later |
