Darkfire is the most stereotypical Ridgeback imaginable. With a strong hatred and fear of deep water, especially the ocean, and a tendency to "borrow" his clanmates' items without their knowledge, he's not exactly the most well-liked dragon in the clan. He is, however, extremely loyal to his clan and friends, and most prefer to put up with his antics rather than lose a good friend. Many have their doubts though, after putting up with the fifth time waking up to slime from Darkfire's familiar in their nest.

Darkfire, like most Ridgebacks, has a bit of a "borrowing" problem. Except his problem lies more in returning what he takes. He doesn't mean to steal, he just finds something interesting and then forgets he took it. This leads to a huge pile of stolen objects behind his nest, which is the first place a clanmate will look for a lost item. Darkfire also tends to forget other important things, such as what he is supposed to be doing. A fact that was found out when he was fighting in the Coliseum and didn't come back. Moonbeam was sent to find him, and she found him walking along a beach searching for seashells to add to his collection. It was decided that he was too easily distracted for the Coliseum, but he still remains one of the clan's best fighters. Although forgetful, Darkfire is extremely loyal, especially to his mate, Moonbeam. He sometimes finds himself arguing with Silver however. While she tends to avoid fighting, Darkfire believes the best way to defend the clan is through force. In the end though, he respects her as leader and follows her orders.
Though most of the clan is quite annoyed by his tendencies to steal, Turtle is more than happy to steal right back. Being another Ridgeback, he simply laughs whenever something goes missing, and Darkfire knows to watch out in case Turtle takes something of his. Though having a terrible memory, and Turtle being one of the clan's best spies, Darkfire almost never notices something is missing. He continues to believe he has bested the other, though he has noticed that no matter how much he steals, his pile remains the same size...
